In the cabin, Anna, Jack, Lisa, and the newly arrived young mother Maria spent a few relatively peaceful days together. They shared warmth and care with limited resources, temporarily forgetting how dangerous and cruel the outside world could be. Anna gradually realized that she was starting to rely on Jack's presence, not only because of his strong fighting ability, but also because of his resilience and reliability in this chaotic world.
At night, the sound of the wind gradually rises, and it starts to drizzle outside. Anna and Jack sit by the campfire, the flames reflecting on their faces, making them appear especially warm.
"Jack, have you ever thought about what we would be like if all of this ended?" Anna asked softly.
Jack smiled and a hint of tenderness flashed in his eyes: "I have thought about it many times, but every time I feel that we must survive first before we can talk about the future."
Anna nodded, knowing that Jack was right. She suddenly felt an impulse to get closer to him, seeking more warmth and comfort. She gently leaned on Jack's shoulder, feeling his body temperature and heartbeat.
"Anna......" Jack called her name softly, his eyes filled with tenderness.
Anna looked up and saw the deep gaze of Jack, feeling her heart racing, she involuntarily kissed him. Jack responded to her kiss, and the two gradually fell into an indescribable intimacy and passion. In this world full of death and fear, they found comfort and reliance in each other.
Two
On this passionate night, the rain outside grew stronger, and the fierce wind mixed with the downpour beat against the windows of the cabin. Anna and Jack forgot everything in the warmth of the campfire, but danger was quietly approaching.
Suddenly, a loud crashing sound broke the silence of the night. Anna sat up abruptly, feeling a wave of panic. She looked towards the door and saw that Lisa and Maria had also been startled awake, looking tense.
"What was that sound?" Lisa asked, her voice trembling.
"It might be a zombie, we need to be careful," Jack quickly got up, picked up his weapon, and walked towards the door.
Just then, the door was violently knocked open, and a new monster burst in. This monster was different from the previous zombies, it was taller and its skin had a metallic sheen, with red light shining in its eyes. Clearly, this was an evolved form of the zombie, with strength and speed far beyond that of a regular zombie.
"Step back quickly!" Jack shouted as he swung the iron rod in his hand, trying to block the monster's attack.
Anna swiftly grabbed a dagger, standing by Jack's side, ready to fight the monster. The monster let out a low growl and lunged at them. Anna and Jack worked together seamlessly, but the monster's strength was just too great, and each attack carried tremendous force.
At this tense moment, Anna suddenly felt a sharp pain in her back. She turned around in surprise to find Maria stabbing her with a dagger.
"Maria, you..." Anna couldn't believe her eyes. She couldn't understand why Maria would betray them.
"I'm sorry, I have to do this." Maria whispered, a glimmer of hesitation flashing in her eyes, but quickly replaced by determination.
Three...
Jack saw Anna get hurt and angrily shouted at Maria, charging towards her, but he was blocked by the monster and unable to rescue her in time. Lisa was also shocked by this sudden betrayal, unsure of how to respond.
"Anna, hold on!" Jack shouted as he fought desperately with the monster, hoping to eliminate the threat as soon as possible.
Anna covered her wound, feeling a sharp pain and weakness, but she knew it was not the time to give up. With all her remaining strength, she lifted the dagger and stabbed Maria.
Maria was stabbed and fell to the ground in pain and regret. Anna struggled to catch her breath and stood firm, knowing she had to persevere for Jack, for Lisa, and for herself.
"Lisa, help me!" Anna shouted, needing her companion's support.
Lisa finally reacted, picked up her weapon, and joined the battle. Together, they fought against the evolving monsters, and finally, with a powerful blow from Jack, the monster fell, losing its life.
Four
After the battle, Anna weakly leaned against the wall, feeling a wave of exhaustion and pain. Jack walked over, tightly embracing her, his eyes full of concern and love.
"Anna, are you okay?" Jack asked softly, his voice trembling slightly.
"I'm fine, just a little sore," Anna forced a smile, feeling a wave of warmth. Despite the pain in her body, her heart was filled with strength.
Lisa walked over to help Anna with her wound, her hands trembling slightly, but her eyes filled with determination: "Anna, we won't give up on you."
Anna felt a wave of emotion. She knew that in this dangerous and treacherous world, she had friends and loved ones like Jack and Lisa, which gave her infinite courage and strength.
Five
In the days that followed, Anna and her companions reorganized the cabin, trying to make it safer and more comfortable. Despite the outside world still being full of danger, they found strength in each other's support and love.
Anna is gradually recovering, and her heart is becoming stronger. She knows that she is no longer the protected girl she used to be, but a warrior who can face everything independently.
"We will definitely survive," Anna said to Jack and Lisa, her eyes shining with determination.
"Yes, we will face everything together, no matter how difficult," Jack held Anna's hand, his eyes full of love.
Lisa also nodded, their friendship becoming even stronger in this moment.
