As the sun set in the west, casting a blood-red glow across the sky, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei led their troops through a mountainous area when they suddenly heard deafening shouts and cries of battle from behind the hills. Liu Bei raised his hand to signal a halt, listening intently with a furrowed brow. "The sounds from behind are like thunder; there must be a great battle." 0

Guan Yu's gaze sharpened as he spoke in a low voice, "From the sound of it, it seems the Imperial Army has suffered a defeat." 0

Zhang Fei could no longer contain his excitement. Brandishing his Eighteen-Feet Serpent Spear, he exclaimed, "Brother Xuan De, what are we waiting for? Let’s charge in and see what's happening!" 0

Liu Bei mounted his horse and shouted, "Follow me to a higher vantage point to assess the situation!" The three of them rode up a hill and looked into the distance. They saw that the Imperial Army was in disarray, soldiers scattering in all directions as a wave of Yellow Turban Army troops surged forward like a flood, their banners flying high and their shouts echoing through the air. The most prominent among them was a large flag emblazoned with the words "General Tian Gong." 0

Liu Bei's expression darkened as he pointed his sword forward. "This must be Zhang Jiao! The Imperial Army is in chaos; if we do not act swiftly, it will be difficult to restore order amidst the turmoil." 0

Guan Yu's eyes were sharp as he nodded coldly. "The situation is still uncertain; we must strike quickly to turn the tide." 0

Zhang Fei's face was filled with fierce determination as he laughed heartily. "Perfect! Today I shall meet this General Tian Gong and see just how formidable he is!" 0

Without further hesitation, Liu Bei raised his hand decisively. "All troops, follow me into battle!" The three of them led the charge down the hill like three sharp arrows piercing into the ranks of the Yellow Turban Army. Zhang Fei let out a mighty roar as he swept his Eighteen-Feet Serpent Spear through the air, knocking two Yellow Turban Soldiers aside with one thrust, blood splattering across his armor. Wherever his horse's hooves passed, enemies fell to the ground without any means of defense. 0

Guan Yu followed closely behind, wielding his Green Dragon Crescent Blade with the swiftness of wind. Heads rolled from his strikes, sending Yellow Turban Soldiers fleeing in terror. His gaze was icy, yet every movement was precise; each swing took a life without fail. Meanwhile, Liu Bei commanded from the center, his sword gleaming coldly as he cleaved through enemy lines like cutting through bamboo. 0

The Yellow Turban Army was thrown into chaos as someone shouted in panic, "It's Liu Bei! He has come to attack us!" Morale crumbled instantly, and their formation began to break apart. Seeing this, Zhang Jiao glared furiously from atop his chariot, brandishing his staff as he bellowed, "These are merely remnants; what is there to fear? Form ranks and face them!" 0

However, Zhang Jiao's voice could no longer stabilize the situation; soldiers continued to retreat as the Imperial Army began to counterattack. At this moment, seeing the enemy in disarray, Liu Bei wasted no time raising his sword and shouting, "Charge with me! We must capture Zhang Jiao!" 0

Finally unable to withstand any longer, the Yellow Turban Army collapsed and scattered. In a fit of anger and fear, Zhang Jiao personally led his remaining troops in retreat, fleeing over fifty miles before finally stopping at a safe distance from the battlefield. 0

After the battlefield fell silent, Liu Bei and his companions organized the remnants of their forces and escorted the captives, only to learn that the defeated Imperial Army had been led by Dong Zhuo. The three of them immediately took their troops to rescue Dong Zhuo back to the main camp. In their first meeting inside the tent, Dong Zhuo appeared disheveled, his armor damaged, yet there was a hint of arrogance in his demeanor. He sat at the table, casting a disdainful glance at Liu Bei and the others, and coldly asked, "Who are you? To which faction do you belong?" 0

Liu Bei stepped forward and clasped his hands in salute. "I am Liu Bei, courtesy name Xuan De. I came with my brothers Guan Yu and Zhang Fei to provide assistance. May I ask, General Dong, is your injury serious?" 0

Dong Zhuo slightly raised his eyes and replied with indifference, "So it is just some nameless rabble without rank or position who dares to meddle in military affairs. Since you have brought people to escort me, I suppose that counts as merit. You may leave now." 0

Upon hearing this, Liu Bei's expression remained unchanged as he bowed again. "It is my duty to serve the court and assist General Dong; I seek no fame or fortune, only peace for the country and its people." 0

Dong Zhuo merely smiled coldly at Liu Bei's words and did not respond further, waving his hand to signal for food and drink to be prepared. Liu Bei had no choice but to step outside the tent. 0

Zhang Fei, unable to contain his anger any longer, stormed out of the tent and slammed his fist into a wooden post. 0

The night was deep, and the campfire flickered weakly against the howling cold wind outside. Zhang Fei paced back and forth, seething with rage as his Eighteen-Feet Serpent Spear scraped loudly against the ground. Suddenly stopping in his tracks, he turned to Liu Bei and Guan Yu, shouting angrily, " Brother Xuan De! Yun Chung! We three brothers risked our lives to save Dong Zhuo, yet we are met with such humiliation! Keeping him alive will only make me more miserable! Let me kill him and rid myself of this resentment!" 0

Liu Bei furrowed his brow and placed a hand on Zhang Fei's shoulder with a hint of helplessness in his voice. "Yi De, you must understand that Dong Zhuo is an official of the court. Killing him would not only be pointless but could also implicate us and lead our soldiers to unnecessary deaths. This is a time of turmoil; we cannot let momentary anger disrupt our greater plans." 0

Guan Yu added calmly, "Though Dong Zhuo is disrespectful, we are in chaotic times. If we let internal strife arise while the enemy remains undefeated, won't that give the Yellow Turban Rebels an opportunity? Yi De, have you considered the consequences?" 0

Zhang Fei remained furious, slapping his thigh as he scoffed. "You two speak so lightly! In my view, it is a true disgrace for us three brothers to bow our heads and obey someone like him! If I cannot kill him, then I will leave; going elsewhere is better than enduring this humiliation!" 0

Seeing Zhang Fei's fierce words, Liu Bei spoke with compassion in his tone. "Yi De, I know your passion well! But from the moment we swore brotherhood, we agreed to live and die together. If you insist on leaving, what will become of me and Yun Chung?" He paused for a moment before speaking with a low but resolute voice. "I think it would be better for us to leave this place together and seek out a worthy leader to pursue great ambitions." 0

A glimmer of hope flashed in Zhang Fei's eyes as he blurted out, "Are you serious?" 0

Guan Yu pondered for a moment and coldly nodded, "Since Dong Zhuo lacks virtue, we need not linger. The three brothers are united in heart and mind; it matters not where we go." 0

Upon hearing this, Zhang Fei was filled with enthusiasm, clapping his hands and laughing heartily, "That sounds splendid! This scoundrel is not worth our service; let’s leave!" 0

That night, Liu Bei and the two others quietly withdrew from Dong Zhuo's camp without making a fuss, hastening under the stars to Zhu Jun's main camp. Upon learning of Liu Bei's arrival to offer his allegiance, Zhu Jun personally welcomed him to his tent with great warmth. He grasped Liu Bei's hand with a beaming smile and said, "I have long heard of Mr. Xuan De's name; to meet you today is truly a blessing! The bandits are rampant, and I am troubled by the lack of capable generals. Your arrival is just what I need to help quell the chaos." 0

Liu Bei humbly replied, "I am but an ordinary man; to serve t General He is indeed my destiny." 0

Zhu Jun treated the three of them with great respect and soon appointed Liu Bei as the vanguard to confront the bandit leader Zhang Bao. At that time, Zhang Bao had gathered around eighty to ninety thousand troops stationed behind the mountains, presenting a rather perilous situation. Zhu Jun dispatched Liu Bei and his forces to attack, with Guan Yu and Zhang Fei accompanying him. The three commanders arrived at the foot of the mountain and soon spotted the Yellow Turbans' camp with their banners fluttering in the wind. The soldiers were lined up and ready for battle when a general rode out on horseback—none other than Gao Sheng, Zhang Bao's deputy. He brandished a spear and shouted angrily at Liu Bei's army, "Who dares approach? State your name quickly; do not throw away your life in vain!" 0

Liu Bei sneered and waved his sword, saying in a deep voice, "Yi De, step forward to engage!" 0

Zhang Fei, already impatient, spurred his horse forward and leaped out, aiming his Eighteen-Feet Serpent Spear directly at Gao Sheng. "State my name? Your grandfather is Zhang Fei! Come and die!" 0

Seeing Zhang Fei charging fiercely towards him, Gao Sheng was startled and nearly lost control of his horse. He managed to steady himself and raised his spear in response as the two engaged in fierce combat at the front lines. The clash of their weapons sent sparks flying; Zhang Fei's strikes were relentless while Gao Sheng gradually fell behind. In a moment of panic, Gao Sheng exposed a flaw in his defense. With a mighty roar, Zhang Fei thrust his spear straight into Gao Sheng's chest, piercing through and sending him crashing down from his horse. 0
