Gu Yan sat before the vanity, her expression ashen, allowing the maids to apply her makeup under Li Ruofeng's relentless urging.
Pei Zhirui was still under house arrest. As he lifted his foot to step into the palanquin, Gu Yan clenched her hands tightly. She would remember this humiliation. One day, she would make Gu Qingning pay the same price.
When Gu Qingning returned to the main hall of the residence, she encountered Gu Yan, dressed in a bright red gown, her gaze fierce and piercing as if she wanted to swallow her whole.

"If you're tired, you can rest first!" He said gently as he looked at Gu Yan sitting on the bed. He still felt a twinge of reluctance towards her.
"Your Highness, I..." Gu Yan hesitated, glancing at Pei Zhirui before walking over to the table to pour herself a glass of wine and downing it in one go.
Standing before him, she reached out a delicate hand to caress his neck gently. Dressed in a sheer red nightgown that clung to her snow-white skin and slender waist, she appeared alluringly ethereal.
Staring at the woman before him with longing eyes, Pei Zhirui suddenly felt a tightening in his abdomen; his throat rolled as desire surged within him.
He immediately rose and embraced her, collapsing onto the bed. Their lips met as he pried open her mouth, and he gradually lost himself in the moment.
Every man who found himself beneath a woman's pomegranate skirt was destined to succumb—Pei Zhirui was no exception.
Gu Yan could only use this tactic to win the heart of the man before her for the time being.
The man bit her ear, his voice hoarse as he whispered beside her ear, "Yan, you are so beautiful!"

After Gu Yan's marriage, life seemed to stretch out leisurely.
Gu Qingning's days became increasingly fulfilling. Occasionally running into Li Ruofeng led to some teasing, but she was quick to retort back.
Aside from spending her days in the pharmacy studying medicine, Gu Qingning visited Qi State Manor every three days to assist the master with acupuncture and detoxification.
Now, with only three days left until the wedding, Gu Qingning arrived at Qi State Manor to thoroughly eliminate any remaining toxins.
