With Gu Yanran's support, Li Ruofeng led Granny Li and several other maids toward the front gate in a grand procession.
At this moment, it was bright outside, and the streets were bustling with people. A crowd of onlookers had already gathered at the entrance of the Zhongyuan Marquis' residence.

Gu Zan, witnessing Li Ruofeng's attack on his father, stood in front of Gu Siyuan and Chen Die with an angry expression. He pushed Li Ruofeng with both hands while shouting at her, "Bad woman! You hit my father; I won't let you get away with it!"
The crowd fell silent, shocked by the scene. Even the old matriarch of the Gu family took a moment to regain her composure.
"Li Ruofeng, what do you think you're doing?" she exclaimed, unable to maintain her dignified demeanor as she angrily jabbed her cane against the ground.
She had truly had enough of this daughter-in-law. After struggling for years to have a son, all she got was one who was useless. With her own grandson gone, Gu Zan was now the only hope left for Gu Siyuan's lineage. Was Li Ruofeng trying to ruin him and destroy everything she had worked for over the years?
"I only slapped my own husband; what else could I possibly do?" Li Ruofeng replied with a sudden burst of laughter. Seeing the old matriarch's expression at that moment made it clear that this incident would not go unpunished under her watch.
For all these years, she and her son had treated Xuan'er with indifference, keeping him as a backup in case things went awry.
