As soon as the door opened, without waiting for Rao Jie to step inside, Wu Rong embraced her and kissed her, almost spinning her around as he pulled her in.
In the instant the door closed, Wu Rong had already lifted his prize and seductively suggested, "How about we try the bathroom today?"

Emerging from the bathroom, Rao Jie felt dazed, sitting on the sofa while Wu Rong dried her hair with a hairdryer, lost in thought.
Wu Rong, satisfied and cheerful, asked, "What do you want to eat tonight? You must be too tired to cook. Let’s order takeout from that place you like…" Just as he was speaking, the doorbell rang unexpectedly.
Rao Jie turned her head in confusion, and Wu Rong took the initiative to open the door.
To their surprise, it was Nina who stood outside, having actually come over.
Rao Jie snapped out of her daze and stood up, looking at Nina as if facing a formidable opponent.
Nina looked at the two of them—hair still damp and dressed in pajamas—and for a moment was taken aback, her mind going blank as she struggled to find words.
"What are you doing here? I don’t recall inviting you to my home," Wu Rong said impatiently. If it weren't for their long-standing acquaintance, he would have already turned her away.
"As a guest, I traveled quite a distance to find you. Aren't you going to invite me in for a moment? Isn’t this supposed to be a land of etiquette?"
Wu Rong sneered, "Sorry, it's not convenient. Can’t you see we were just about to sleep?"
Nina's expression tightened slightly, but she maintained an arrogant smile. "About last year's Mathematics Association anniversary celebration..."
Wu Rong's expression changed immediately.
Rao Jie looked on in confusion from behind.
Nina continued smugly, "I went in your place to that tedious and hypocritical three-day party. You said you owe me one; now it’s time to repay that debt."
Wu Rong scoffed, "That equation doesn’t hold; that event wasn’t worth my time returning with you."
"Of course," Nina replied. "I’m not so unrealistic. I spent three days; you owe me three days in return. During those three days, you can’t make excuses to avoid seeing me or spending time with me. I just need three days. During that time, I will persuade you to come back. If after three days you still stand firm in your decision, I will give up and never bother you about this again. But if you don’t cooperate, I won’t hesitate to drop by here whenever I have free time during my research."
Nina's threats were perfectly timed; she used favors as leverage and ended with intimidation. As long as Wu Rong wasn’t foolish, he would know what the best choice was.
He absolutely didn’t owe anyone anything and didn’t want his life disturbed constantly—after all, Nina was someone who meant what she said.
Wu Rong was about to express his agreement when suddenly something seemed to strike him; he caught his breath and nearly choked on his words.
Slowly turning his gaze towards Rao Jie, he contemplated his next move.
Rao Jie stood there, still in a daze, watching them. When Wu Rong turned to look at her, she thought something was wrong. However, as soon as she saw the expression in Wu Rong's eyes, her heart, which had just been stirred by Nina's suggestion, began to warm again.
Wu Rong could have made the decision on his own; he had always been a person who acted according to his own whims without regard for others. Yet today, despite the fact that he could easily make a choice by himself, he found himself wanting to turn back and ask for Rao Jie’s opinion.
Rao Jie felt touched. If she chose to refuse here, would Wu Rong give up the best option for her sake, bending his principle of not owing anyone anything to accommodate her feelings?
