Without hesitation, Chi Mu Jiu agreed to the wager proposed by the other party.
"Good! The little beauty is quite straightforward!" Feis waved at the blonde dealer, a sly smile spreading across his face.
The game officially began. Chi Mu Jiu did not look at the cards on her table, but she felt completely confident inside; she knew she was destined to win this round. Her confidence stemmed from her ability to see the position of every card after they were shuffled, and she could even discern colors and sounds with flawless accuracy. This extraordinary skill made her nearly invincible at the gambling table.
Unfortunately, there were no casinos in her country where she could fully utilize this unique ability. At that moment, she appeared calm on the surface, but internally she was highly focused, listening intently to every subtle sound, capturing every detail that could influence the outcome, preparing for the imminent victory.
Just as the two were about to place their bets, a subordinate rushed over to whisper something in Feis's ear. The subordinate looked tense and spoke rapidly. After hearing him, Feis's expression changed dramatically; he glanced at Chi Mu Jiu in astonishment before quickly averting his gaze, his eyes filled with disbelief and a hint of fear.
"Miss, I concede this round," Feis blurted out before he could finish his sentence. Four large black briefcases were suddenly placed in front of Chi Mu Jiu.
"Nine hundred million in currency translates to seven million U.S. dollars. Please take it." Feis's voice trembled slightly.
"Huh?" Chi Mu Jiu was taken aback; this sudden turn of events left her bewildered. He conceded without even looking at his cards? It was simply too strange.
However, seeing the drastic change in his attitude made her realize that something was definitely amiss. Yet she couldn't fathom the reason behind it, leaving her filled with confusion and questions.
"Miss, I've arranged for someone to deliver the money to your residence. Please take your time; you are always welcome to visit my casino for entertainment."
To be honest, Chi Mu Jiu thought that this person had learned a bit of Chinese well.
"Thank you," she replied, lifting one of the black briefcases beside her. To her surprise, she found it incredibly heavy and struggled to lift it.
The password box was heavier than she had imagined. A few men quickly grabbed a box each and followed behind Chi Mu Jiu.
Fess, the casino manager, watched Chi Mu Jiu exhale deeply after exiting the casino. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said, still shaken, "It's a good thing I didn't do anything to that girl; otherwise, I might have lost my life today."
"Boss, look!"
Fess turned at the sound, and one of his subordinates was examining the cards that Chi Mu Jiu had just played.
A pair of clubs.
The subordinate's voice trembled slightly.
Fess was taken aback; he never expected Chi Mu Jiu's hand to be better than his own.
As soon as she stepped out of the casino, Chi Mu Jiu looked up and spotted a familiar figure. Standing at six feet three inches tall, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, his features were sharp and well-defined.
The man was also looking at her, but his expression was somewhat indifferent, as if he didn't recognize her.
"Du Cheng Yan, what are you doing here?!"
Chi Mu Jiu exclaimed excitedly as she ran towards him, her eyes filled with surprise and excitement. However, he pressed a hand firmly on her head, the strength preventing her from moving any closer.
Du Cheng Yan frowned slightly and said, "Don't move." His voice was deep and magnetic but carried a hint of reproach.
Chi Mu Jiu, however, paid no mind to his warning. "You have no idea! I was amazing in there today!"
Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as she eagerly wanted to share her experiences with Du Cheng Yan.
Du Cheng Yan glanced at the men carrying the password boxes behind her, his expression darkening further. "Get in the car."
After saying that, he turned and walked toward the vehicle. Chi Mu Jiu obediently followed him, her heart brimming with joy.
