"Du Hengyan, is this the kind of car you drive?!"
Chi Mu Jiu stared wide-eyed at the luxury car parked in front of her, unable to suppress her astonishment. Do male models abroad earn this much money? But with Du Hengyan's physique, it was hard not to make a fortune, right?
Du Hengyan didn’t respond to her question. Chi Mu Jiu didn’t dwell on it either; she focused on the series of briefcases being placed one by one into the trunk, feeling relieved enough to get into the car.
Once inside, she realized there was a driver in the front seat. The back of the car turned out to be a private space.
As soon as the car started moving, before Chi Mu Jiu could fully process what was happening, Du Hengyan lifted her and set her down on his lap. This was already the third time he had done so.
Running away? Why wasn’t she running now?
Du Hengyan held her chin firmly but carefully, as if he were afraid of hurting this little thing.
"I... I didn’t run."
Chi Mu Jiu’s gaze flickered, and her voice grew softer, tinged with guilt. She hadn’t intended to run away, but the truth was that she had indeed fled, making her current defense seem weak and unconvincing. Yet clearly, she was his client; how had she ended up in such a submissive position?
"Hmm?"
Du Hengyan narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression growing colder and more indifferent. His piercing gaze seemed capable of seeing through her thoughts.
"I..."
Just as Chi Mu Jiu attempted to explain herself, Du Hengyan leaned in and kissed her, cutting off her words.
"Mmm..."
Chi Mu Jiu wanted to struggle but found herself tightly embraced by Du Hengyan, unable to move. Her heart raced, and her breathing quickened.
The kiss carried a hint of anger along with an indescribable complexity of emotions. In this private space, the atmosphere became charged with ambiguity and tension.
"Did you sleep with me just to run away? Are you still running?"
Du Hengyan's voice was filled with an oppressive force, his deep-set eyes burning with anger. One hand gripped her slender waist, as if trying to embed her into his own body, while the other hand roamed beneath her skirt, exuding an irresistible dominance and restraint.
"Stop running!"
As she felt that hand growing more restless beneath her skirt, she completely surrendered.
At that moment, she resembled a startled fawn, panicking and flustered.
Only then did Du Hengyan withdraw his actions. His tense expression was no longer as furious as before, but there was still a hint of displeasure, a gloomy aura surrounding him.
"So why did you touch me just to run away? You even went to the casino; do you play so recklessly back home?"
His questioning voice carried a barely perceptible bitterness.
Although Chi Mu Jiu didn’t understand why he was so angry with her, she reflected on her own recent behavior and realized it had indeed been quite wild—modeling and gambling.
"I only gambled for money."
She stubbornly lifted her chin, attempting to mask her inner turmoil with those words.
"You..."
Du Hengyan's face darkened; he truly wanted to throw this reckless woman out of the car.
Seeing him turn his face away, Chi Mu Jiu finally realized that this man might genuinely be angry, so she stopped her antics.
"I won a lot of money at the casino."
She tried to change the subject.
Du Hengyan remained silent, his cold profile appearing even more rigid under the dim light of the car.
"Seven million dollars!"
She deliberately raised her voice, hoping for some reaction from him.
Du Hengyan continued to be silent, not even glancing in her direction.
"I'm doing this all to earn money for you."
