Chimu Jiu's face instantly flushed red, and she dared not lift her head.
"You must be hungry after sleeping for so long. Let's eat something first," Du Hengyan said, fully aware that this little one was all talk and no action. He had no intention of teasing her further.
After a soft "mm," Chimu Jiu obediently sat back down in her chair.
Although the dishes on the table were all packed in takeout boxes, they were authentic Chinese cuisine. As she gazed at the familiar dishes, her eyes sparkled with delight; she never expected to find such genuine Chinese food abroad.
"Nothing beats home-cooked meals. I've lost weight eating all these sauces here," Chimu Jiu remarked, shoveling food into her mouth as if she had been starving for ages.
With grease smudged on the corner of her mouth, she paid it no mind, thoroughly enjoying this rare delicacy.
Du Hengyan couldn't help but chuckle at her voracious appetite; it seemed she truly loved to eat. It was worth noting that these dishes were specially sourced from channels back home, delivered daily to satisfy his refined palate.
To ensure he could savor the taste of home even in a foreign land, the ingredients were meticulously selected and prepared.
After finishing her meal, Chimu Jiu wiped her mouth contentedly.
"This is simply delightful! Having someone serve me while I eat is such a treat. At home, I have people waiting on me too, but instead of handsome men, I have two grumpy tigers baring their teeth at me."
Thinking about her home situation made her frown slightly.
In comparison, she found herself increasingly reluctant to return.
As night deepened, Chimu Jiu emerged from the shower and softly asked Du Hengyan, who was sitting by the bed playing on his phone, "Are you still going to sleep with me tonight?"
"Hmm?" He looked up at her.
"I haven't had enough of your abs yet," Chimu Jiu said boldly as she walked over and sat beside him.
Du Hengyan truly felt that she was nothing but a little rascal.
"Aren't you afraid I might lose control?" Du Hengyan leaned in slightly, a hint of threat in his voice.
"If you can hold back once, you can hold back twice," she replied nonchalantly.
"Are you implying that I can't?" Du Hengyan frowned slightly, a touch of dissatisfaction evident on his face.
"That's not what I meant! I just... I'm simply craving your body—no, I mean your abs, not to mention your broad chest and handsome face," she hurriedly explained, her words tumbling over each other in her flustered state.
"Well, I'm craving every inch of you," he replied, a teasing glint in his eyes.
As soon as the words left his mouth, Chi Mu Jiu once again caught the look of exasperation on Du Hengyan's cold yet handsome face.
The night deepened, enveloping everything in silence.
Du Hengyan gently wrapped his arms around her, his tone soft enough to seem like it could drip with tenderness. "Little one, you won't run away this time, will you?"
Chi Mu Jiu had just closed her eyes but slowly opened them again. A hint of guilt flickered across her face before she quickly masked it. "I won't run."
After saying that, she nestled closer into his embrace, seeking warmth and security.
"Mm," Du Hengyan responded lightly. Before long, his steady and even breathing filled the air—he had fallen asleep.
Yet Chi Mu Jiu slowly rose from his arms, propping herself up on her hand as she gazed intently at the sleeping Du Hengyan.
This man looked so good even in sleep; his delicate features appeared even more enchanting in slumber, making it hard for her to resist stealing a few more glances.
She found herself truly reluctant to part with him.
As dawn broke, a guest appeared in the hotel lobby—Chimu Jiu. She carried a pink suitcase and approached the front desk to check out. Before leaving, she generously handed a stack of U.S. dollars to the receptionist, specifically instructing her not to disturb the guests resting in their rooms. Having completed all of this, she left the hotel without looking back.
