She struggled, her legs kicking wildly as she tried to break free from his grasp, but it was futile.
Du Hengyan did not take her upstairs; instead, he carried her with long strides to the sofa and unceremoniously tossed her onto the cushions.
Chi Mu Jiu was left dazed from the impact, still reeling as his strong hands pinned her arms above her head.
Then, he leaned down.
His lips pressed tightly against hers, his tongue prying open her mouth, exploring every inch with reckless abandon.
At first, Chi Mu Jiu resisted, but gradually, under his fervent assault, her body softened against her will, trembling slightly.
Du Hengyan's other hand slid along her waist, slowly moving upward, gently caressing her skin through the fabric of her clothes, sending waves of tingling sensations coursing through her. Her breathing quickened, heart pounding like a drum, and a charming blush crept across her cheeks.
Du Hengyan's kiss grew tender and lingering, as if conveying endless affection. Their bodies pressed closely together, their warmth mingling.
"No, Du Hengyan," Chi Mu Jiu's voice trembled with determination, yet her body had already succumbed to weakness.
"This is your first time rejecting me; aren’t you craving my body? Why do you back out every time we reach this point?"
Du Hengyan's breath quickened as he paused his movements at a certain place, no longer probing further.
Chi Mu Jiu fell silent, unsure of how to respond.
"Do you think I'm dirty?"
Du Hengyan's eyes glimmered with curiosity, as if trying to see through her heart.
Before he could say more, the little person beneath him quickly denied it.
"No! How could I ever dislike you?" Chi Mu Jiu's voice was urgent.
A strange tremor ran through his heart.
He should have taken advantage of that first night they met.
Chi Mu Jiu fell silent again, a blush blooming on her face.
"Touch it."
Du Hengyan's voice carried a hint of temptation and threat.
"I refuse!" Chi Mu Jiu replied without hesitation.
"That’s not up to you."
Just as Du Hengyan was about to lift the little person beneath him, the doorbell rang abruptly.
"Tsk, why does someone always interrupt us at the crucial moment?" Du Hengyan frowned, clearly annoyed.
Chi Mu Jiu's heart raced. Seizing the opportunity while Du Hengyan was distracted, she quickly wriggled free from beneath him.
"I'll go answer the door!" she exclaimed, fleeing toward the entrance as if being chased by a flood or a beast.
The door swung open.
Outside stood two well-dressed men, tall and serious, holding something that resembled an elegant envelope.
"Miss Chi, this is an invitation that Mr. Ye specifically asked us to deliver to you," one of the men said respectfully, extending a red envelope with both hands.
"Thank you."
Chi Mu Jiu took the red envelope from him, her mind swirling with confusion.
"We won't disturb you any further," the men said before turning to leave.
In the living room, Du Hengyan sat on the sofa, staring intently at Chi Mu Jiu.
"The Ye family sent an invitation," she said as she approached him.
"This is really not the right time."
Chimu Jiu could see the lingering desire in his eyes.
Du Hengyan held her in his lap, a position she had long since grown accustomed to. She didn’t struggle; instead, she settled comfortably in his embrace.
She opened the envelope to find two invitation cards inside.
“Wait, why are there two?” Chimu Jiu muttered to herself, noticing one was addressed to her while the other bore no name.
Instinctively, she looked up at Du Hengyan.
The Ye family was indeed generous, sending two invitations.
There was a hint of sarcasm in Du Hengyan's tone as he spoke.
Chimu Jiu knew he still held a grudge. However, perhaps the Ye family sent two invitations so she wouldn’t feel lonely and could bring someone along for company?
Then this one must be mine.
But Du Hengyan took the unnamed invitation from her hand without hesitation.
Well, she had been worried about how to bring him along, but now that concern was lifted.
Now she just needed to decide what to wear.
I think that dark red outfit would be nice.
“Good choice,” he replied with an approving nod.
