"Why are you still angry?"
Chi Mu Jiu carefully glanced at the silent Du Heng Yan beside her, her voice as gentle as a breeze.
He pressed his lips tightly together, not uttering a word, his cold profile seemingly coated with a layer of frost. The furrowed brows and the taut line of his jaw revealed his inner displeasure.
Chi Mu Jiu couldn't help but sigh inwardly, wondering why this jealous man was so easily offended. She had merely mentioned the Ye family in passing, and this sensitive man had turned sullen throughout their conversation.
Trying to appease him, Chi Mu Jiu attempted to act cute, her voice soft and sweet, her watery eyes filled with expectation.
But he remained unmoved, maintaining his icy demeanor.
She refused to give up.
This time, there was finally a flicker of emotion on Du Heng Yan's face; the tense lines of his expression softened slightly.
"Du—"
Before Chi Mu Jiu could finish her sentence, Du Heng Yan could no longer hold back and suddenly kissed her fiercely.
Their breaths intertwined in an instant; his kiss was domineering and passionate, as if he wanted to release all the emotions bottled up inside him.
Chi Mu Jiu found herself breathless, her hands instinctively pressing against his chest.
In the midst of their heated exchange, she managed to whimper out a few words.
Hearing this, he paused, his gaze softening with tenderness and indulgence as he gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"If you mention the Ye family again, I can't promise I won't do something about it."
As he spoke, his eyes seemed to warn her, lingering possessively on her waist and lower; the desire in his gaze was unmistakable.
The driver in front focused intently on the road, not daring to glance back even once. Yet in his heart, he couldn't help but mutter to himself about how fervent and daring this couple's interactions were.
"Let's have breakfast; I've packed it all for you."
Du Hengyan's voice regained its usual calmness, breaking the slightly ambiguous atmosphere.
The breakfast cup was placed nearby; the milk should be cool enough to drink now. Du Hengyan lowered his head slightly, one hand busy on his phone, seemingly replying to someone.
Good.
Chi Mu Jiu had no intention of leaning over to take a look; after all, everyone had their own secrets, and personal space should be respected. She opened her breakfast packaging, and a delightful aroma wafted out.
There were still ten minutes until the yacht auction began, and the car came to a steady stop beside the dock. The parking area for the special vehicles was already filled with cars.
Quite a number of people were attending tonight's auction.
Chi Mu Jiu frowned slightly; her delicate features appeared even more enchanting in the glow of the setting sun, with a hint of surprise in her eyes. Her gaze fixed on the license plate of a nearby car. It was clear that this plate was not from the city; the Ye family's auction was indeed grand.
"Let's go," Du Hengyan said in a low, magnetic voice as he slightly turned to gesture for Chi Mu Jiu to take his arm.
She nodded and gracefully placed her hand on his, her slender fingers gently gripping his arm. Their figures appeared particularly harmonious in the warm light of dusk.
As they reached the dock, someone from the Ye family came forward to greet them.
"Miss Chi, we've been waiting for you," they said, leading her along.
Chi Mu Jiu focused her gaze and found the person somewhat familiar.
