"Boss!"
Du Hengyan's cold gaze swept across the room, his eyes sharp enough to freeze anyone in place. He then waved his hand, signaling for everyone to leave.
The group of over ten people scurried away like startled birds, fleeing in haste.
Chi Mu Jiu followed closely behind Du Hengyan, watching the hurried figures with a puzzled expression. "Are they really that afraid of you?" she asked curiously.
Du Hengyan raised an eyebrow. "Perhaps."
The door to the hospital room was gently pushed open.
Chi Mu Jiu's eyes immediately landed on Ye Qi, who was lying on the hospital bed. His face was handsome and striking, with well-defined features, though his complexion appeared slightly pale.
When Ye Qi noticed Du Hengyan and Chi Mu Jiu entering, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes. Just as he was about to greet them, Du Hengyan spoke first. "No need for pleasantries; I came to see you." With that, he pulled Chi Mu Jiu into the room.
The sofa remained as comfortable and soft as ever.
"Have you been video chatting with your girlfriend?" Du Hengyan asked after sitting down.
Ye Qi paused, clearly caught off guard by the question. A faint blush crept up his ears as he stammered, "Ah? Yes."
Seeing Ye Qi's shy demeanor, Du Hengyan let out a light laugh.
It was truly the first time he had seen Ye Qi, who usually fought with real weapons, display such an expression.
Ye Qi awkwardly asked, "Did you all hear?"
Du Hengyan's lips curled into a slight smile, a mix of amusement and sarcasm. "I didn't hear it, but I suspect it's already spreading in the team."
Ye Qi sighed helplessly, "With so many people around, not one of them can keep their mouth shut?"
At that moment, Du Hengyan's expression turned serious. "Pei Jin has already been interrogated. The results will come soon. He also brought what you've been pursuing all along."
Upon hearing this, Ye Qi's face lit up with joy, so excited that he momentarily forgot about his injuries and instinctively tried to sit up. However, the sharp pain from his wound quickly reminded him of his condition, forcing him to endure the agony while maintaining his position.
"Are you talking about that batch of items?" Ye Qi's eyes sparkled with excitement.
Du Hengyan nodded solemnly without saying a word.
The hospital room fell into a silence that lasted over a minute, as Ye Qi's emotions churned within him.
Finally, he slowly uttered two words: "I understand."
Then, he shifted his gaze to Chi Mu Jiu. "Miss Chi, I am Ye Qi. I believe this is our first meeting."
Hearing this, Chi Mu Jiu recalled their first encounter. Indeed, Ye Qi had been by Du Hengyan's side when she first met him. Yet for some reason, she felt that Ye Qi's appearance was somewhat familiar, as if she had seen him somewhere before.
Suddenly, a name flashed through her mind: Ye Jue.
Ye Qi?
Ye Jue?!!
Could these two be biological brothers?!
