A glint of mischief flashed in his eyes as he teasingly asked, "When does the lady plan to let me indulge?" His words dripped with endless temptation.
Chimu Jiu's face instantly flushed crimson. She shot a glare at Du Hengyan, unsure of how to respond.
Silence enveloped the car once more, only their breaths intertwining in the stillness.
"Why so quiet?" Du Hengyan observed Chimu Jiu's shy demeanor, his heart swelling with affection. He gently caressed her hair and continued to tease, "Are you contemplating what position to take later, or are you wondering how long you can hold out?"
"I—"
Chimu Jiu felt both embarrassed and annoyed. Just as she was about to retort, Du Hengyan suddenly kissed her, silencing her protests.
Mmm...
Her eyes widened in surprise. She wanted to struggle but found her body turning soft and pliable in Du Hengyan's embrace, devoid of strength.
"Du Hengyan..."
Chimu Jiu mumbled incoherently, her gaze revealing a mix of shyness and affection.
"Seeing that little mouth of yours just makes me want to kiss you," he murmured, his voice low and husky. "Be a good girl and stick out your tongue."
His kiss deepened with fervor and intensity. Chimu Jiu offered no resistance, surrendering herself to Du Hengyan's warmth and passion. The temperature inside the car seemed to rise dramatically, thick with love and ambiguity.
After a heated kiss, she unexpectedly drifted off to sleep in his arms. She had indeed been exhausted these past few days—gambling, worrying, and striving to maintain her composure amidst impulsive moments.
The familiar scent of dragon sandalwood filled her nostrils as she nestled into the soft bed, the cool silk sheets inviting her to sink deeper into comfort.
She wore a loose shirt belonging to Du Hangyan as a nightgown, and beneath the oversized fabric, her long, fair legs were exposed. The pale skin of her neck still bore the marks of the kisses Du Hangyan had left during the day. In her drowsy state, she felt someone gently embrace her from behind.
Du Hangyan.
Still carrying a hint of sleepiness, she murmured softly, "Did I wake you?"
His voice held a trace of apology as he reached out to turn off the light, plunging the room into darkness, save for the faint moonlight filtering through the window. Concerned that she might catch a chill, Du Hangyan carefully pulled the blanket up around her.
"I just missed you," he said.
Turning onto her side, Zhi Mu Jiu buried her head in his chest, greedily inhaling his unique scent.
"What were you thinking about? Tell me," he prompted gently, running his hand along her back with a tenderness that could melt ice.
"Fortunately, you’re not Zhi Mu Jiu," she replied hesitantly.
"Otherwise, I would really—"
She left the last word unspoken, but Du Hangyan understood her meaning perfectly.
"Are you scared?" he asked with concern.
"Not just scared; I was terrified," Zhi Mu Jiu's voice carried a note of grievance, almost on the verge of tears, which tugged at his heartstrings.
"Let me pat your head. Don't be afraid; it's my fault for making my precious one worry," he soothed her softly. "Once this matter is settled, how about I take you to make some money?"
"Yes, let's earn lots of money."
Chimu Jiu responded in a daze,
"Then I will marry you."
The last sentence was spoken so softly that it seemed to be meant only for herself.
As drowsiness gradually enveloped her, Chimu Jiu felt an overwhelming sense of security in his warm embrace.
Listening to the gentle rhythm of the little beauty's breathing, Du Heng paused slightly in his motion of stroking her back and tightened his hold on her.
"It is I who will marry you."
