As soon as the door closed, Chi Mu Jiu turned over, and in her drowsy state, she saw a tall, indistinct figure by the bedside.
"Is that you, my lady?" Du Heng Yan asked softly, his tone laced with a hint of caution. He placed a wooden box on the table, his eyes flickering with an unnatural glimmer.
"No," Chi Mu Jiu replied as she sat up in bed. The lace straps of her nightgown slipped down her shoulder, revealing skin as white as snow.
The dim light accentuated the alluring sight, casting an enchanting glow that was hard to resist. How could a man who had tasted the pleasures of life withstand such an unintentional temptation from a beauty?
Du Heng Yan's gaze burned with intensity, his throat tightening as desire surged within him.
"Darling, that's not how you wear your clothes," he said, leaping to the bedside. Before Chi Mu Jiu could react, he captured her soft lips in a passionate kiss.
The shimmering strands of their connection intensified in the charged atmosphere, seemingly narrating the fervor and longing between them. Chi Mu Jiu's body gradually softened, and she instinctively wrapped her arms around Du Heng Yan's neck.
Seizing the moment, Du Heng Yan slipped his hand beneath her nightgown, caressing her smooth and delicate skin, allowing her to feel his love and desire.
Chi Mu Jiu attempted to pull the straps back up, but Du Heng Yan stubbornly held her small hand down, preventing her from succeeding.
"It's too late to cover up now," he murmured in a deep voice filled with possessiveness, making Chi Mu Jiu's heart race.
Her cheeks flushed from the kiss, breath quickening as sleepiness faded away. The room was filled with a sweet aroma that intoxicated the senses.
"What did you bring back?" Chi Mu Jiu asked.
In the dim light, Chi Mu Jiu's gaze fell upon the two exquisite wooden boxes on the table. The soft glow illuminated them, reflecting a unique brilliance.
Du Heng Yan's figure visibly paused, but before he could respond, the little person in his arms nimbly climbed over him.
"Is this a reward for me?"
Chi Mu Jiu blinked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"Alright, Du Heng Yan, Chinese men sure are quick to act!"
She excitedly jumped off the bed with her bare feet and dashed towards the wooden boxes on the table.
Du Heng Yan watched her with a half-smile, his expression enigmatic.
"My lady, before you open it, I must remind you of one thing: once you see what's inside, you must take responsibility for it."
His deep voice carried a teasing tone.
Chi Mu Jiu's hand paused as she was about to open the box, turning back to look at him in confusion.
"What do you mean? You’re not going to give me two bombs, are you?!"
Her eyes widened in surprise as various bizarre images flashed through her mind.
Du Heng Yan was amused by her quirky thought process; a smile danced in his deep-set eyes.
Seeing him so mysterious only piqued Chi Mu Jiu's curiosity further, and she couldn't wait to uncover the secrets hidden within the wooden boxes.
"Whatever it is, even if it's a bomb, I'll open it!"
With determination, she picked up the box at the edge and gently pressed the delicate switch on the side.
With a click, the box opened.
"What is this?"
She slowly pulled out a black leather whip from inside the box, which glimmered with a mysterious sheen under the light.
Chi Mu Jiu looked at Du Heng Yan with an expression that was both understanding and bewildered.
Du Heng's ears turned red in an instant, and he quickly cleared his throat to mask his current shyness and embarrassment.
However, before he could regain his composure, Chi Mu Jiu took out a pair of handcuffs from the box. The expression on her small face shifted from one of feigned understanding to sheer shock in an instant.
What on earth is Du Heng doing now?!
Immediately after, he heard Chi Mu Jiu ask again.
