As she gazed at the increasingly colorful fish in the large aquarium on the deck, they swam joyfully in the water, shimmering with vibrant hues. One batch after another of subordinates went out to sea and returned.
As time passed, the sun gradually rose higher in the sky, and the temperature followed suit. Sunlight filtered through the clouds, casting a sparkling glow on the surface of the ocean, creating a breathtaking scene.
Zejin remained motionless in place, beads of sweat forming on his slightly handsome face, rolling down his cheeks. His colorful shirt was now soaked with sweat, clinging tightly to his body. In contrast, Du Hengyan lounged casually with one leg crossed over the other, reclining in his chair with a cold and deep gaze.
(How I wish I could tell Boss Du that sitting like that can lead to pelvic tilt; he looks so handsome like this!)
Chimu Jiu rubbed her eyes and finally took in the chaotic state of the room. Her face instantly flushed red, filled with embarrassment and anger.
Du Hengyan! She gritted her teeth and called out, her voice trembling slightly. Every part of her body ached. Even the corners of her mouth still tingled from last night’s lingering sensations.
She climbed out of bed, and just as she stood up, her legs gave way beneath her; her knees hit the edge of the bed hard.
“Ouch!” Chimu Jiu gasped as pain shot through her, tears welling up in her eyes from the sting.
After a long moment, she managed to stand again, slowly moving step by step while holding onto the bed for support. She changed into a loose outfit; the soft fabric felt comfortable against her skin.
As she stepped out of her room and made her way to the hall, she noticed that Du Hengyan and his subordinates were nowhere to be seen, which puzzled her. Where could everyone be? There had been so many people around earlier; why was it so empty today?
It wasn’t until she reached the deck that she saw a group of sturdy men all around her. Each one had well-defined abs visible beneath their shirts.
From time to time, a few figures would emerge from the sea, swiftly making their way toward the deck.
What day is it? So many people rushing to the sea to feed the fish?
"Madam! Are you satisfied with this fish?"
One of the subordinates who had just climbed up from the ladder shook a black fish he had caught, as if to show off and seek praise.
What satisfaction? Was she still half-asleep?
Though Chi Mu Jiu looked bewildered, she still managed to respond, "Satisfied."
Upon hearing her voice, Du Hengyan immediately turned his gaze in her direction.
The beauty stood on the deck, her hair gently tousled by the breeze, radiating an ethereal glow. However, the purplish-red mark on her knee was particularly striking, contrasting sharply with her fair skin, resembling a vibrant flower blooming in the snow.
"Madam, you're awake? Why weren't you waiting for me inside?"
He quickly rose and effortlessly lifted her into his arms with one hand.
"Um, it was a bit stuffy; I wanted to get some fresh air."
What were they doing?
Chi Mu Jiu watched as everyone on the deck busily prepared to catch fish from the sea.
In the large fish tank at the center, there were at least several different types of fish swimming around. There were even a few small sharks inside.
Her gaze then landed on a familiar figure standing under the blazing sun, drenched in sweat.
Zhe Jin.
At that moment, he also looked over at Chi Mu Jiu. His expression was innocent yet tinged with a hint of grievance.
There were still a few bruises on his face. Although the person who struck him hadn't used much force, Ze Jin still suffered quite a bit.
Chi Mu Jiu glanced away in just a second, no longer looking at him.
Yet, there was a fleeting glimmer of longing in Ze Jin's eyes.
Chi Mu Jiu understood that his presence here was undoubtedly the work of Du Heng Yan. Du Heng Yan must be feeling jealous; although he didn't say anything and hadn't done much to Ze Jin, it was precisely this behavior that made it clear to Ze Jin that he had to comply with whatever Du Heng Yan wanted him to do.
No one was allowed to covet what belonged to him.
Indeed, it was just a little game of men vying for affection.
What was wrong with his leg?
