Chi Qiyun felt that it was no big deal. She had heard that tonight's escapade was like strong liquor, but to her, it was nothing more than an empty reputation leading to nothingness.
With this thought, she let out a bitter laugh.
At that moment, her phone on the table rang. A glance at the caller ID revealed it was Lei Ji.
Seeing his name on the screen ignited a fire of anger within her. How dare this scoundrel call her? Without a second thought, she pressed the answer button and shouted into the phone:
"Are you still bold enough to call me? Do you want me to curse you to death, you dog of a man?"
Her tone was fierce, burning with rage, showing no intention of holding back.
On the other end, Lei Ji's voice came through:
"I called to check if you're still alive, you worthless thing! If you're not dead yet, hurry up and get your stuff out of my house; I find it unlucky."
Hearing the words "worthless thing," Chi Qiyun felt as if her heart had been thrown into an ice cellar, freezing instantly. The alcohol in her system began to take effect, and her anger erupted completely:
"I—"
She unleashed a torrent of curses at Lei Ji, cursing his ancestors for generations.
Lei Ji, however, responded with a cold laugh:
"Are you done cursing? Crazy woman, no matter how foul your words are, they can't compare to how you sounded in bed. It seems you don't want your things anymore; I'll just throw them away."
Immediately after, there were sounds of things being smashed on the other end before the line went dead as he hung up.
Chi Qiyun trembled with rage.
Looking back, it was she who willingly climbed into Lei Ji's bed, trading her body for fleeting moments. She had always been confident in her looks and thought he would be captivated by her charm, devoting all his attention to her.
But now she saw clearly that in Lei Ji's eyes, women were merely playthings. He could easily turn his back on her after satisfying his desires; he could sleep with her just as easily as he could with someone else.
From the very beginning, there had been ulterior motives behind their closeness. In this complex business world, how could there ever be a real outcome?
The answer was obvious.
"Hey? Isn’t that Miss Chi from the Chi family?"
A sudden voice broke through the noise.
Chi Qiyun turned to see a few men approaching from a nearby booth. Their gazes were unabashedly fixed on the pale skin visible at her neckline.
Chi Qiyun did not recognize these men, but their attire suggested they were wealthy young masters, mere playboys without any notable reputation.
"Miss Chi, what's wrong? Why are you drinking alone?" one of them called out with a mocking tone. "Young Master Lei doesn’t know how to cherish a delicate flower, but we do! Have a drink with us; we can afford it."
As they spoke, their laughter rang out, filled with a teasing malice, as if she were an object for their amusement.
Chi Qiyun's expression remained cold as she squeezed out a few words through clenched teeth: "No drinks. Leave."
"Still angry? Miss Chi, what are you pretending for? Young Master Lei has told us all about your skills in bed! Aren't you going to let us have a taste today?"
At those words, Chi Qiyun's heart sank.
What did they mean? The men burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! If you agree to serve us, we’ll tell you all about it! Young Master Lei is so rough; we can be gentle."
As they spoke, they began to close in on her, their teasing turning into something more threatening.
The music in the bar continued to blare around them, but she felt as if she were trapped in a dark abyss, utterly isolated and defenseless.
