The sleep was incredibly comfortable. Truly comfortable.
In her dreams, Chi Mu Jiu even envisioned a scene where someone was blushing. Du Heng Yan was singing to herself while taking off her clothes. As for how she woke up, it was from her own laughter.
The first thing Chi Mu Jiu did upon waking was glance at the computer, wanting to confirm whether Du Heng Yan had hung up the call. Surely she couldn't have heard me laughing, right?
"Good morning, sweetheart. Did you just wake up?"
It was morning now, and according to the time difference with Du Heng Yan, it should be around ten in the evening there.
"I just heard you laughing. What kind of beautiful dream were you having? Why not share it with me?"
Du Heng Yan was wearing a bathrobe, droplets of water still clinging to her chest and arms, indicating she had just taken a shower. The surroundings didn’t look like his villa in another country.
"No, it’s nothing. I just dreamed that you were seducing me while wearing an apron."
"That's quite a unique thought. Didn’t you enjoy the last uniform seduction enough?"
Upon hearing Du Heng Yan say this, Chi Mu Jiu immediately stopped giggling.
"Or do you want to sleep with me?"
"No, no! I can’t possibly think about those things while I’m pregnant. Even if I did think about it, I shouldn’t..."
She stammered and turned over, not wanting Du Heng Yan to see the blush on her cheeks.
"Really, talking about this so early in the morning—how can anyone..."
"You don’t need to come over; I can still take good care of you from here."
"Go ahead and talk your nonsense; who could outtalk you, Du Heng Yan?"
She buried her head in the blanket, feeling both shy and yearning.
"Today it’s cold on your side; if you're wearing a dress, remember to bring an extra coat."
Du Hengyan knew that she would always blush at his teasing. Seeing her shyly hide under the blanket, he decided to change the subject.
Estimating the time until the press conference and the preparations needed, he figured that she could still sleep for another three hours.
"How can I sleep after you tease me like this?" she mumbled from under the covers, her voice muffled and unclear.
"Then how about letting your husband show you the big treasure?"
"Still teasing!"
"Du Hengyan, watch your words. Right now, I’m carrying three little ones. Speaking like that is basically prenatal education; it could spoil our little treasures!"
At one month pregnant, the baby's auditory system had begun to develop, responding to external sounds. This was something Chi Mu Jiu had taken to heart from what the doctor had said!
"That's true. So let’s make sure the little ones hear their daddy and mommy's loving interactions often, so they won’t be unaccustomed to it later on."
Du Hengyan's eyes sparkled with mischief; he simply couldn't resist teasing his adorable wife. If there was anyone to blame, it would have to be her cuteness—so soft and sweet-looking, she seemed easy to tease.
(No, not tease—she just looked so kissable. He definitely wanted to go home and kiss those little lips until her eyes were dreamy and she whispered what she wanted.)
Very well, seriousness lasted no more than three seconds.
"So, does my treasure want to continue sleeping?" He looked at Chi Mu Jiu, who peeked out from under the blanket with interest.
"I think I won't sleep anymore; I should go check if there's anything else that needs preparation at the venue."
After a moment of thought, she sat up.
"Then I'll wait for you to head out before hanging up."
"Okay."
Chimu Jiu responded with a sound, got out of bed, stretched lazily, and walked towards the bathroom.
She carefully slid forward.
Du Hengyan had specifically reminded her about it.
Just as she had spoken those two words, Chimu Jiu stepped in front of the bathroom door and slipped on a patch of water that had dried from the night before. With her footing unsteady, she suddenly found herself sliding forward.
Her response was abruptly cut short by the scare; in a reflexive action, her hand instinctively reached for the nearest doorknob to steady herself.
