Du Hengyan had successfully completed his mission, and he had also finished the task of collecting red envelopes. For him, the daily routine of taking care of the children was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, as Chimu Jiu rarely had the opportunity to hold the little ones.
His brothers, eager to cuddle the two adorable babies, filled their schedules to the brim each day just to have more time to bond with the children. Du Hengyan didn't hesitate to decline many tasks, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to caring for his beloved wife and their precious little ones.
After months of attentive care, although Chimu Jiu hadn't gained much weight, her health had improved significantly since she first arrived. In the past, she would suffer greatly during her monthly cycle, but now, as long as she avoided contact with cold water, she hardly experienced any major issues. This improvement was all thanks to Du Hengyan's monthly efforts to help her body recover.
Looking at the ginger syrup he had just prepared, Chimu Jiu couldn't help but smile. She turned to Du Hengyan, and from this angle, he appeared even softer than usual.
"Du Hengyan, it's time to feed," she said.
Cradling their little one in his arms, Du Hengyan gently coaxed the baby, whose eyes gradually began to close as he drifted off to sleep.
"Little one needs feeding, and so does the big one," Du Hengyan teased with a smile before carefully placing the baby in the crib.
The little one didn’t fully fall asleep; instead, he lay quietly, not crying or fussing, blinking his round eyes curiously at his parents. Meanwhile, on another crib, their son was sound asleep, seemingly lost in a sweet dream.
Du Hengyan turned back to look at his beautiful wife and asked with concern, "Does it still hurt?"
Furrowing his brow, he picked up the ginger syrup and tested its temperature. Once he ensured it wasn't too hot, he cautiously fed her spoonful by spoonful.
Chimu Jiu shook her head slightly. "Not anymore."
Watching her drink the ginger syrup, Du Hengyan inquired further, "Is it too spicy? If you don’t like it, I can add some brown sugar next time."
"You won't feel bitter if you feed him."
At that moment, the little one in the crib burst into a fit of giggles, as if he understood their conversation. The two exchanged glances and couldn't help but laugh.
After finishing her ginger syrup, Chi Mu Jiu felt a bit drowsy. As Du Heng Yan adjusted the blanket, he heard the soft, even breaths of his beautiful wife. A ripple of affection surged within him; indeed, this period had worn out his precious wife.
Watching Chi Mu Jiu sleep peacefully, he sighed softly. He then carefully picked up the little one, afraid of waking his beloved wife. Nearby, there were two outfits that the little one had outgrown, hanging on a clothes rack. Du Heng Yan frowned, thinking that being a dad was no easy task, especially with two little ones to care for.
Just as he pondered how to handle these matters, the doorbell rang at an opportune moment. Outside, several brothers looked at him with eager expressions, their eyes fixed on the little one in his arms.
"Perfect timing! We were just worried about who would take care of the baby," they said enthusiastically.
"Boss, leave it to us; you can trust us," they chimed in unison. They rushed to take the little one from him, their faces beaming with joy. The baby seemed unbothered by the new faces, reaching out with tiny hands and babbling happily at the uncles.
"Just remember to close your eyes when it's time for a diaper change," Du Heng Yan warned with a cool expression as he relinquished the baby.
