"Why do you suddenly need to take leave?"
At the top floor of the gambling hall, Du Hengyan watched Ye Qi with keen interest. This guy seemed to have finally come to his senses, likely inspired by the touching story of Jin Su and his girlfriend achieving their happy ending.
"I want to go back for a bit," Ye Qi replied straightforwardly, explaining his reason. He was going back to pursue his girlfriend, who had just completed her mission successfully and received the highest honor medal. The military even held a celebration banquet in her honor.
"I need to go back; if I don't, someone else might steal her away."
In the office area, it wasn't just Du Hengyan and Ye Qi; there was also a military colleague present to hand over Ye Qi's tasks.
"Sister Xinyuan from our unit is practically a goddess in our eyes. The number of people pursuing her is countless. The old team members know about your relationship with her, but the new military friends might not," one of them remarked.
Ye Qi remained silent, his gaze fixed on Du Hengyan, urgency evident in his eyes.
"Granted. Work is important, but luckily there aren't any major tasks in the gambling area lately. You should take this time to handle things well. It would be best if you could return with her; I can support that," Du Hengyan said as he handed over the signed documents to Ye Qi, adding a reminder.
"Thank you, boss! I'll bring you good news."
In the domestic military district.
"Xinyuan, did you push back the celebration banquet arranged by the commander?!"
"Hmm? What's wrong?"
Le Xinyuan looked up at her colleague Xia Yi with her bright eyes.
"You must be the first person ever to refuse a commander's request," Xia Yi said while neatly folding her uniform. There wasn't time to wash it at this hour.
Although she had postponed the celebration banquet, she had managed to secure a social gathering instead, along with five days of leave for her comrades who had participated in the mission.
"Five days, plus today makes six days—enough time for me to visit a certain country and find Ye Qi."
"Have you finished your mission, Ye Qi?"
Xia Yi asked, looking at Le Xin Yan, who was lost in thought.
She probably doesn't know.
Le Xin Yan hadn't told Ye Qi anything about her mission this time. Before setting off, she had been thinking that if she successfully returned to the team, she would use her military achievements to earn a chance to see him.

As night fell, the social gathering began amidst laughter and cheer.
The star of the evening was Le Xin Yan. Although she wasn't interested in the spirited military friends around her, she still politely acknowledged them to maintain the atmosphere. Initially, she had considered skipping this gathering altogether since it seemed like the army hadn't held an event in quite some time, but she eventually nodded in agreement.
She didn't want to make things difficult for the commander; as long as there was a break from duty, she would endure and attend the gathering.
"Hey, our Xin Yan said that any officer who can defeat her tonight has already taken a successful first step!"
Following Xia Yi's words, one tall and handsome officer after another stepped forward eagerly by the bonfire.
"Sister Xia Yi, are you serious about that?"
