I watched as Wang Jingya walked away, a mix of emotions swirling within me. Li Jiali was still in my arms, breathing softly, but I felt no pleasure—only an overwhelming emptiness.
"Chunfeng, what are you thinking about?" Li Jiali propped herself up, her full chest barely concealed, but at that moment, I couldn't muster even a hint of interest.
"You should go back now." I rolled out of bed and casually pulled on a T-shirt.
Li Jiali bit her lip, a flicker of reluctance in her eyes. She took her time getting dressed, her curvaceous figure outlined enticingly in the dim light.
"You'll regret this," she said before leaving.
I took a cold shower, trying to calm the restless desire surging within me. But the effects of the drug seemed to intensify; I could feel my muscles swelling and my strength growing.
As I entered the court, I saw Wang Jingya shooting hoops. She wore a loose jersey, yet it couldn't hide her perfect figure. Each jump shot showcased her long legs straightening and her waist twisting with an indescribable grace.
"Care for a game?" I approached and snatched the ball she had just thrown.
Wang Jingya shot me a cold glance. "Haven't you already found a better playmate?"
"That was just a misunderstanding," I tried to explain.
"Misunderstanding?" She scoffed. "Do you think I don't notice your changes? Suddenly taller, strength surging, and those... abnormal desires."
A jolt ran through me. "What do you know?"
"I know much more than you can imagine." She stepped closer to me, her sweet breath washing over me. "But I want to know, are you really the Liu Chunfeng I once knew?"
"Then prove it with basketball." I tossed her a ball. "One-on-one, three shots."
Wang Jingya caught the ball, a glint of determination flashing in her eyes. She suddenly took off, her speed catching me off guard. I quickly turned to defend, only to find she had already spun past me.
But just as she was about to make her layup, a surge of power erupted within me. I lunged forward and swatted the ball away mid-air.
"Is this the proof you wanted?" She looked at me, disappointment filling her gaze. "Strength gained through drugs?"
I stood frozen, watching her pick up the ball and prepare to leave. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my body, and I felt my bones twisting and contorting.
"Ah!" I collapsed to the ground, cold sweat pouring down my face.
Wang Jingya turned to look at me, and for the first time, there was a crack in her indifference.
"You know the side effects of that drug, right?" I asked with great difficulty.
She bit her lip, a flicker of struggle crossing her features. Just then, Li Jiali's voice called out from the edge of the court.
"Chunfeng!"
I looked up to see a crowd had gathered by the court without my noticing. Li Jiali and Zhao Wanting stood among them, their expressions filled with various emotions.
Wang Jingya had already turned and disappeared into the crowd.
I didn’t know what had just happened, and I couldn’t imagine what side effects the drug might have.
My height, my immense power.
Sometimes, I felt terrifyingly strong, as if no one could stop me.
But now, I felt so fragile that I was even less than a goddess.
