Tan Jian parked the car at the entrance just as Tianyi came to open the door. She saw Linmin every day, so there was nothing unusual about their meeting, but it had been a long time since Tan Jian had seen Tianyi, so they exchanged pleasantries and caught up.
If Linmin had changed a lot, Tianyi had changed even more; on the street, one might not even recognize her. Linmin still had her delicate figure, but Tianyi was tall and athletic with a curvy build. Her hair was pulled back with a large red hairpin, and since she was at home, she wore a black crop top that exposed her midriff and tiny denim shorts. Her legs were long and fair, and she was barefoot.
Seeing her outfit, Linmin exclaimed, "Wow! Are you selling yourself?"
Tianyi reached out to pinch her playfully and scolded, "Don't say such things with Tan Jian here."
Tan Jian and Linmin took off their shoes, and Tianyi invited them to sit in her spacious living room. "There's not much here," she said. "I boiled some frozen dumplings; let's make do with that!"
"Ah!" Linmin replied. "Did you say there were fish, lobster, and abalone?"
"Yes, but that's for dinner when you're treating us," Tianyi said. "Stop complaining and come help me."
The two girls dashed into the kitchen and soon returned with two large plates of steaming dumplings, placing them on the coffee table in front of the sofa. Tianyi also opened some canned food, filling the table quite nicely.
Linmin prepared the dipping sauce while Tianyi went to the liquor cabinet and pulled out a bottle of Hennessy VSOP. Linmin looked at her incredulously and said, "I've come to your house so many times; why have you never let me drink this before?"
"Well, aren't we drinking it now?" Tianyi handed the bottle to Tan Jian. "Could you please open it?"
Tan Jian popped the cork out, and Tianyi found three glass cups. She poured half a glass for each of them while Linmin set the tableware neatly. Tianyi raised her glass and said, "To celebrate our reunion as old classmates—cheers!"
The three of them took big gulps, but Linmin immediately choked, sticking out her tongue and exclaiming, "So spicy!"
Tan Jian and Tianyi burst into laughter. They ate and drank while reminiscing about funny stories from their childhood, exchanging words until they became increasingly cheerful, laughing and joking around.
Eventually, they were all full; most of the bottle was gone. Linmin's eyes were nearly closed like slits, her face flushed like an apple. Tan Jian and Tianyi were slightly better off but still feeling lightheaded.
Initially, Tan Jian and Linmin sat on the couch with Linmin on his right side while Tianyi knelt on the floor beside them. Eventually, she climbed up to sit on Tan Jian's left side. With a sweeping motion of his arms like a great bird spreading its wings, Tan Jian embraced both of them.
Tianyi laughed and said, "Sir, please be respectful; our Linmin has a boyfriend."
Linmin leaned over to hit her playfully and said, "You don't have one either!"
The two began playfully arguing over Tan Jian's lap, each pressing against his chest comfortably.
Tianyi wrapped her arms around Tan Jian's shoulders and leaned against him saying, "At least mine isn't as jealous as yours."
"What does that matter?" Linmin retorted defiantly.
"So I can do this..." Tianyi said as she kissed Tan Jian on the cheek. "Ha! Can you do that?"
Linmin couldn't admit that she had already kissed him before; instead, she quickly leaned in to kiss his other cheek. Not to be outdone, Tianyi climbed onto one of Tan Jian's legs while holding his face to kiss him on the lips.
Tianyi's body was soft and curvy as she nestled against Tan Jian without wanting to get up. Linmin kept laughing while playfully hitting her and calling her names as Tianyi clung even tighter to Tan Jian.
