Gu Changting stood in the dimly lit study, holding a stack of documents in his hands. His gaze was deep as he focused on one page, his brow furrowing tighter with each passing moment. These documents revealed a long-buried family history—Li Shudong was not acting alone; he had the enmity of the Gu Family's ancestors behind him.

She displayed several pieces of evidence on the screen. "The methods used to forge these 'evidences' are crude and full of loopholes. I want to thank those who truly believe in the facts and are willing to stand by the truth."
The reporters busily took notes as Ruolan's calm demeanor gradually quelled the noise in the room.

A few days later, through his investigations, Gu Changting finally uncovered more secrets about Li Shudong. He learned from an old friend that Li Shudong's father had once been a business partner of the Gu Family's ancestors but had fallen out during a collaboration over profit distribution issues, leading to ruin for his family.
"So this is his reason for revenge," Gu Changting said softly as he stood in front of his car.
"Yes," the other party sighed, "but the events of those years may not be as simple as they seem."
At that moment, Ruolan received a call from an unfamiliar number. The voice on the other end was deep and cold. "Miss Su, I hear you've been doing well lately. I have a suggestion for you that you would do well to heed."
Ruolan tightened her grip on the phone, her voice trembling slightly. "Who are you?"
The caller chuckled coldly. "Li Shudong. If you don't want to see the Gu Family completely collapse, be at the abandoned factory in the eastern suburbs at ten tonight. Don't call the police."
Ruolan hung up the phone, her heart racing. She knew this was a dangerous trap, but she couldn't let the Gu Family fall into crisis again.
At ten o'clock that night, Ruolan arrived alone at the abandoned factory. It was pitch dark around her, with only a dim yellow light illuminating the ground. Li Shudong emerged from the shadows, a cold smile on his face. "Su Ruolan, I must admire your courage."
"What do you want?" Ruolan struggled to keep her composure.
"What I want is simple—Gu Changting's compromise," Li Shudong said with a threatening tone. "Otherwise, the secrets of the Gu Family will become headlines for all media."
"You wish!" Ruolan gritted her teeth. Just as she was about to speak, she suddenly heard the sound of car engines outside the factory.
Gu Changting burst in with several bodyguards. The moment he spotted Ruolan, he immediately positioned himself in front of her. "Li Shudong, try touching her and see what happens!"
Li Shudong's expression changed slightly as he chuckled coldly. "Gu Changting, it seems you're willing to go to any lengths for her."
"Indeed," Gu Changting replied coldly. "And from today onward, you no longer have the right to threaten me."
As soon as he finished speaking, the police arrived and apprehended Li Shudong. He struggled but it was futile.
Back home, Ruolan sat on the sofa, still shaken. Gu Changting sat beside her and took her hand. "Ruolan, I'm sorry for putting you in danger again."
"Changting, I'm not afraid of danger," Ruolan whispered. "What I fear is not being able to walk alongside you."
Gu Changting tightened his grip on her hand. "I won't let anything like this happen again."
A few days later, the business grievances of the Gu Family's predecessors were gradually revealed, but Gu Changting clarified the truth of those years with facts and restored the family's reputation in public. Meanwhile, Ruolan's wisdom and courage during this crisis only deepened Gu Changting's affection for her.
