For several consecutive days, Wan Wei had been distracted, mixing up the hot spring resort with the Great Bay while selecting outdoor advertisement locations. If it hadn't been for Zhong Xia'er’s keen observation, she would have likely faced her boss's wrath again. 0

During lunch at the restaurant, Zhong Xia'er approached her once more with a tray in hand, but Wan Wei ignored him completely. 0

To her surprise, Zhong Xia'er escalated his antics by waving his chopsticks and dumping chicken breast and green peppers from his plate onto hers. 0

Wan Wei glared at him. "What are you doing?" 0

"I don't like it." 0

"Get lost! Your saliva is on it!" 0

Zhong Xia'er chuckled mischievously, "We've done much more intimate things together, so why should we care about this?" 0

"Don't stop him; he's about to self-destruct!" Wan Wei stared at Zhong Xia'er’s rather handsome face for a moment before suddenly asking seriously, "What do you think the chances are that I might fall in love with you?" 0

"One hundred percent!" 0

"Why are you asking him? Why?!" 0

"Alright, let me be serious." Zhong Xia'er actually adopted a thoughtful expression. "Even if you're like a block of ice, if I keep chasing after you, there should come a day when you melt, right? So, I can't say there's a one hundred percent chance you'll love me, but I think ninety-nine point nine percent should be fine!" 0

When Wan Wei heard the first part of his statement, she was genuinely taken aback. Just as she was about to question whether Zhong Xia'er had lost his mind, his characteristic response in the second half sent her reeling back. 0

Sigh, the world was indeed lacking in novelty; Zhong Xia'er hadn’t been possessed by anyone—he would always remain shameless. 0

However… he did have a point. Even if Zhao Zixuan was like a block of ice, she would eventually warm up to him, right? So… why not give it a try? Just consider it fulfilling a dream from college! 0

Wan Wei stood up decisively and walked out. 0

Zhong Xia'er was confused. "Where are you going? We haven't finished eating yet!" 0

"I'm not eating anymore. I'm going to find him." 0

"Who?" A sense of unease suddenly washed over Zhong Xia'er as he pondered who this "him" that Wan Wei was going to find could be. 0

Left behind, Zhong Xia'er felt restless. 0

Who said that once the rice is cooked, everything is fine? 0

The revolution is not yet successful; comrades still need to work hard! 0

Zhao Zixuan released Wan Wei and smiled with focus and ease. "Promise me you'll be happy!" 0

How would Zhong Xia'er take revenge on himself after a breakup? Throw sulfuric acid? Toss eggs? Or just step on the gas and run her over? 0

For some reason, ever since Wan Wei started dating Zhao Zixuan, this question plagued him daily. After all, with Zhong Xia'er's shameless nature, it was easy for him to become furious out of embarrassment. 0

However, Zhong Xia'er's behavior exceeded everyone's expectations. He neither caused a scene nor got angry; instead, he continued to come to the office every day with a smile, teasing Wan Wei. Occasionally, he would seize the opportunity to stick close to her in an overly sweet manner, leaving everyone feeling quite disheartened. 0

It was like someone trying hard to take a dump but only managing to let out a fart—still wanting more. 0

Wan Wei was quite startled by Zhong Xia'er's "normal" behavior. She felt anxious even during her dates with Zhao Zixuan. 0

One day, Zhao Zixuan couldn't hold back any longer. "You keep mentioning Zhong Xia'er all the time. Are you in love with him?" 0

Wan Wei was taken aback and quickly waved her hands. "No way! I don't like that monkey at all!" 0

Zhao Zixuan didn't believe her. "But he... Do you remember? When I asked you why you followed me everywhere, you said it was because you wanted to become a habit for me. You wanted to be by my side all the time so that if one day you suddenly disappeared, I would remember everything about you. You've been colleagues with Zhong Xia'er for two years; are you sure he hasn't become your habit?" 0

Wan Wei found it hard to accept. "How can that be the same? He and I are totally different! He's super annoying and really disgusting. Oh, come on, don't doubt me! Let me tell you, he..." 0

"Wan Wei," Zhao Zixuan interrupted her. 0

"Huh?" 0

"You've already gotten used to it." 0

"How is that possible? I'm not used to it at all! I'm just... just..." Wan Wei suddenly couldn't continue, staring at Zhao Zixuan's face—familiar yet somewhat strange. 0

After all, four years had passed between them, over a thousand days and nights. It wasn't a long time, but it wasn't short either. 0

If it weren't for this reunion, she thought, perhaps she would have eventually forgotten him in the flow of time, and he wouldn't have specifically come looking for her because of their missed romance. 0

Now, neither Zhao Zixuan nor Wan Wei felt any sense of "must." 0

"Wan Wei," Zhao Zixuan sighed softly and then reached out to embrace her. "I'm too late. If only I had turned back to find you sooner." 0

"Hey? Why didn't that ugly Zhao guy come to take you home today?" Zhong Xia'er looked around, confirming that Zhao Zixuan was nowhere in sight. Excitedly shaking the spicy crayfish he had packed in his hands, he said, "Look, your favorite!" 0

Wan Wei met Zhong Xia'er’s mischievous grin, and the warmth she felt suddenly vanished. She rubbed her forehead in frustration; even though she had grown accustomed to his persistent presence, that annoying face was still hard for her to accept. 0

“Have you been abandoned by him? Ah, it must be true! The moment I saw him, I could tell he had a heartless look. So Wan Wei, hurry back into my embrace! I promise to be very gentle with you,” Zhong Xia'er teased. 0

“Why does he have to act so annoyingly? It makes her want to hit him even more.” 0

While eating crayfish, Wan Wei licked her fingers and asked Zhong Xia'er, “Hey, can I ask you something?” 0

“What is it?” Zhong Xia'er replied cheerfully, glad that Zhao Zixuan had finally disappeared. 0

“Did we really know each other when we were kids?” She honestly had no memory of it. 0

“Of course... we didn’t know each other!” 0

“Alright, this guy really is a master at playing the fool.” 0

“Wan Wei,” Zhong Xia'er said with a sly smile as he leaned closer, “Look how round the moon is tonight. Under such beautiful moonlight, why don’t we talk about how you should take responsibility for me?” 0

“Seriously? The one who’s going to suffer here is her!” 0

Wan Wei couldn’t keep her composure and got angry. 0
