The lights were blinding and the audience was noisy. I stood in the center of the stage, my hands slightly clenched, but I tried to make myself look confident and calm. "Hello, judges and audience friends, I am Meng Yan." When the voice came out of the loudspeaker, my heart beat as fast as a drum. This was the final of the college student innovation Entrepreneurship Competition. A week ago, the anonymous letter kept me awake all night, but it also made me determined: I want to prove myself with action! From that day on, I and everyone in the team hardly slept a good night. Planning, market research, financial model... these boring and tedious tasks became our entire life. We overturned and started over again and again, arguing over the details over and over again until every link was as precise as it could be. Planning, market research, financial model... every link was repeatedly scrutinized by us. Li Wei, as the technical backbone of the team, worked for three full days to complete the product prototype, and I was responsible for integrating all the content into a speech with clear logic and outstanding highlights. "Meng Yan, do you think this data is appropriate here?" Li Wei asked me at 2 a.m., his eyes bloodshot. "No, we need to adjust the order again." I answered, biting the tip of my pen, "This way it will be more convincing." Time was running out, but we didn't slack off at all, because everyone knew that this was not just a game, but also a test of our future.
Now, standing here, I take a deep breath and begin to articulate our entrepreneurial vision—a platform based on Campus Social, an Intelligent Matching Platform.
"Our goal is to enable students at the same school to efficiently find like-minded partners through data analysis and interest tags. This not only addresses the issue of isolation in Campus Social but also opens up more possibilities for future career development."
The judges in the audience are focused; some are taking notes while others nod gently.
I know they are intrigued!
Next comes the most critical Q&A session.
A middle-aged judge stands up, his tone sharp: "How does your project address privacy leakage issues? This is a major concern for users."
I am prepared for this, smiling slightly: "Thank you for your question. We have designed a multi-layer encryption mechanism and partnered with a Third-Party Security Company for real-time monitoring. Additionally, we will conduct regular user feedback surveys to ensure our privacy protection measures remain at the forefront of industry standards."
The judge nods and throws out several more challenging questions, but I handle them all calmly, without a hint of panic.
As the final round of questioning concludes, the room erupts into enthusiastic applause. I even hear someone whispering, "She’s really impressive!"
Other competing teams also performed well, but compared to them, their proposals either lacked innovation or practicality, while our project embodies both, subtly tipping the scales in our favor.
When the host announces, "The first prize winner is the Meng Yan Team," I can hardly believe my ears!
The crowd goes wild!
Li Wei was the first to rush over and hug me. "We won! Meng Yan, we really won!"
Tears blurred my vision, but more than that, I felt joy and satisfaction.
In this moment, I had finally proven myself and shown that all the doubts and provocations were nothing but jokes!
After the award ceremony, several investment firms approached us, eager to collaborate.
As I left the venue, I looked up at the night sky, where the stars twinkled as if cheering for my victory.
