On the eve of the graduation ceremony, the wind at the library entrance was a bit chilly. The late spring breeze carried a lingering hint of coldness, mingled with the unique scent of books that filled the campus. 0

I held a few heavy books in my arms, preparing to complete my final graduation project. 0

As I reached the steps, I spotted Wang Yi. 0

He stood there, holding an exquisite gift box, his gaze wandering around as if he were waiting for someone. 0

No, it wasn’t "as if"; he was indeed waiting for me. 0

I frowned slightly and hesitated for a moment, but quickly regained my composure, pretending not to see him as I walked straight toward the library. 0

“Meng Yan!” His voice called out from behind, urgent and somewhat low. 0

I stopped but didn’t turn around; instead, I asked coolly, “What is it?” 0

He rushed forward and blocked my path. 0

“Can we… talk?” There was a hint of pleading in his eyes, mixed with a touch of unease. 0

Those eyes that once made my heart flutter now only filled me with fatigue and weariness. 0

“There’s nothing to talk about,” I replied coldly, stepping around him, only to be blocked once more. 0

"Meng Yan, I know... I've done many wrong things, but..." He lowered his head, the sunny confidence he once had long gone. "But can we really not go back to the way things were?" 0

His tone was filled with regret and pain, yet I found it utterly absurd. 0

"Go back to the way things were?" I chuckled softly. "Wang Yi, do you really think we can return to the past?" 0

He froze, the gift box in his hands trembling slightly. "I..." 0

"What do you want to say?" My voice was eerily calm. "Do you want to tell me that you were kicked out by the Student Council? Or do you want me to feel sorry for you because Zhang Nana used you and left you with nothing?" 0

His face turned pale in an instant. "Meng Yan, I really didn't mean it like that..." 0

"Not like that?" My gaze bore into him, leaving him nowhere to hide. "Who was it that, in order to please Zhang Nana, left me all alone at the school celebration? Who was it that secretly flirted with her behind my back while pretending to be deeply in love with me?" 0

Wang Yi opened his mouth but couldn't make a sound. 0

His silence was the best answer, and my patience had already run out. 0

"Wang Yi, do you know?" My voice was soft yet each word cut like a knife. "Some mistakes can never be undone." 0

He couldn't find the words, only lowering his head in utter disgrace. The wind tousled his hair, scattering what little dignity he had left. 0

Once, he stood on the Student Council stage, full of vigor and the center of everyone's attention. Now, he was just a drowned dog trying to salvage a shattered past. 0

"I'm sorry..." he finally spoke, his voice hoarse and weak. "Meng Yan, I truly regret it. If I could start over, I would never—" 0

"Enough." I interrupted him, not wanting to hear any more meaningless apologies. "Regret doesn't matter; what we had is over." 0

With that, I turned and walked away, giving him no chance to respond. 0

Behind me, Wang Yi seemed to want to say something more, but in the end, he remained silent, leaving only the faint sound of a sigh carried by the wind. 0

I couldn't help but glance back— 0

He stood there, motionless, the gift box hanging limply at his side, his eyes vacant and desolate, as if he had lost the entire world. 0

But sadly, what he lost was not the world; it was merely a woman who had long since stopped loving him. 0
