Shen Jingyu's expression was nearly frozen in shock.
"Mom, sister, I'm going out to buy groceries! You two chat for a bit!" Meng Meng called out as she headed out. "Come with me!"
The air in the living room seemed to freeze.

With only three people left in the room, He Xiaoqing took advantage of her son's foolishness to catch up with Su Xing and Shen Jingyu.

Su Xing was too comfortable lounging on the sofa to discuss her younger brother. She felt relaxed next to her mother and waited for her to speak.
"Ah! You must have heard something about me and that Lawrence fellow," He Xiaoqing began.
As soon as she spoke, Su Xing straightened up in her seat.
Shen Jingyu also leaned in with interest, eager to hear more from He Xiaoqing.

As He Xiaoqing spoke, her gaze awkwardly drifted away from Shen Jingyu's face.
She had thought Shen Jingyu knew nothing about it, but unexpectedly he interjected, "And there was a photo of my father too."
Su Xing gasped in shock and straightened her back even more.
He Xiaoqing nodded solemnly. "Yes. I suspect they were his targets."
But at that time, they had already been dead for two years!
I was unwilling to accept it; I wanted to know why he had their photos. I showed him my frustration.
