Shi Shaowen felt uncomfortable all night and couldn’t lie down to sleep. However, after standing for an hour, he suddenly realized that he didn’t feel much different anymore.
Qin Yi hadn’t closed his eyes for an hour, not only needing to study the properties of those medications but also conducting data analysis. Zhu Man was truly a handful; she had made Qin Yi move the equipment to this hotel overnight to facilitate her research.
To some extent, it was evident that Zhu Man had leveraged Shen Jingyu’s resources to create a free laboratory for herself. Qin Yi gave him a once-over, then opened his collar and sleeves. After confirming that Shi Shaowen was indeed fine, he explained leisurely, “Actually, what you just experienced was just your emotions causing you to calm down. So now that you’re calm…”
“Why didn’t you say anything earlier?” Shi Shaowen glared fiercely at Qin Yi.
“Even if I had said something earlier, you wouldn’t have calmed down! Besides, with you guarding outside while I do my research, I feel particularly at ease.”

Shi Shaowen’s words caught in his throat; his eyes widened in shock as he found himself speechless!
Zhu Man didn’t even lift her eyelids; she simply turned over and went back to sleep. The curtains in the room were drawn shut, and the dim light was barely illuminated by the brightness from outside. Zhu Man raised her hand and pressed the switch without looking!
Shi Shaowen couldn't quite see what was happening from a distance, yet inexplicably, he found himself under attack again. He stepped forward, ready to shout at the person responsible, but felt that taking action might be too much, and he couldn't bring himself to yell either.
He had never felt so frustrated in his life. He kicked the door a few times in anger before hurriedly stepping aside, fearing that someone behind him might silently pull some trick on him.
Qin Yi, who had witnessed everything, had already put down whatever he was doing and stood there in shock. Was Shi Shaowen truly at his wit's end? Had all his noble demeanor vanished?
With eyes wide as saucers, Shi Shaowen took a few steps toward Qin Yi, slammed his hand on the table, and pointed his finger at Qin Yi's Adam's apple.
Qin Yi looked at Shi Shaowen's throat as it moved up and down; it seemed perfectly normal. "Come on, Shao Wen, can't you just avoid provoking him? That guy is a formidable figure. Didn't you see his extraordinary skills? Why would you want to put yourself in danger?"
"Do you want to be a target for him? To serve as a subject for some kind of human experiment? If I had his abilities, would Sister Su Xing still be suffering today?"
"So please, just take it easy," Qin Yi said, spreading his hands. "Honestly, there's nothing I can do to help you! After all, I'm not even on the same level as that person inside when it comes to medicine."
After this night, Qin Yi even began to wonder where Zhu Man had come from. Had she been alive for a thousand years or more? Yet here she was with an international identity—where had she learned these ancient medical techniques?
This was something Qin Yi couldn't wrap his head around; it remained a mystery to him.
Zhu Man, this young girl who seemed so relaxed despite her age, displayed an attitude that even those who had weathered countless storms might not possess.
In the end, Shi Shaowen found himself outside Shen Jingyu's door. Just as he was about to kick it open, he remembered Su Xing was still recovering. He took a deep breath through flared nostrils and knocked rhythmically on the door. However, after a long wait with no response from Shen Jingyu, his knocking grew increasingly frantic.
When Shen Jingyu finally rushed to open the door in his sleepwear coat, Shi Shaowen collided with him as he barged inside.
"Did you lose your mind?" Shen Jingyu frowned slightly before noticing the tail of Shi Shaowen’s frustration following closely behind him.
Shen Lao had informed him that the Duke had provoked that little divine doctor and seemed at a loss for words. His special assistant entered solely to clarify what had just happened and act as a messenger.
However, with just one glance from Shi Shaowen, Shen Jingyu's butler realized he couldn't continue speaking until things were clearer and turned to leave.
After years of brotherhood between Shen Jingyu and Shi Shaowen, there remained an unspoken understanding between them. Thus, as Shi Shaowen's anger simmered down, subtle hints of information began to emerge on his face.
Shen Jingyu knew he had been played, and his mood was particularly foul. He decided to walk over to the kitchen, where he took out a bottle of brandy he had prepared earlier, along with two glasses.
He poured himself a drink to calm his nerves and handed one glass to Shi Shaowen.
Shi Shaowen's chest heaved with anger as he glared at Shen Jingyu, his lips moving slightly as if trying to say something.
Shen Jingyu understood immediately and replied, "Zhu Man is a descendant of the Gu Family from the Hidden World in Hua Country. Back in the day, my father arranged a marriage with them, but I never expected that after my aunt went abroad, this family would choose to retreat from the world. They severed ties with many of their businesses without hesitation.
Yet despite such precautions, that queen still couldn't avoid disaster. How exactly that princess was exiled to the border region is still unclear—whether she was driven there or chose it herself remains a mystery!
This concerns the power struggle within your country's royal family, so it seems you will need to take action personally! However, it appears that Zhu Man's willingness to stay here and help indicates that either you or I still hold some value for her.
Of course, I also owe my brother a debt of gratitude; all of this is for my beloved! Su Xing can finally see hope, and I consider this a debt I owe you!
Shi Shaowen struggled to contain himself: "Brother! For the sake of our brotherhood, I would go through fire and water!"
Even though they were in such a dire situation today, under Shen Jingyu's soothing words, Shi Shaowen found some relief as he swallowed his drink more smoothly.
