That night after Leon revealed his identity, Alice lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. 0

Moonlight streamed through the window, casting a glow on her face, highlighting her troubled expression. Leon's words echoed in her mind: "I am a noble of the kingdom, bearing the mission and responsibility of my family." 0

Alice struggled to reconcile the image of Leon—the one who had worked alongside them in the fields, gathered herbs in the forest, and always wore a warm smile—with that of a lofty noble. She recalled the days they spent together, his care and concern for her, those moments she once thought were ordinary yet genuine, now shrouded in a veil of mystery. 0

"Why did he hide his identity?" Alice murmured to herself, her voice sounding particularly clear in the stillness of the room. 0

Her heart was filled with confusion and a sense of betrayal. Yet when she remembered the sincerity and gratitude in Leon's eyes, she felt that he had not intended to deceive them. 0

In another room, Oliver was also struggling to sleep. He sat on the edge of his bed, gazing out at the moonlight with a furrowed brow. 0

"So he has been lying to us all along; I thought he was a friend," Oliver thought bitterly, filled with anger and disappointment. He felt that his trust had been trampled by Leon, and all those moments they shared seemed like a cruel joke. 0

The next morning, Alice and Oliver met in the courtyard. 0

Their eyes reflected fatigue and confusion. 0

"Oliver, did you not sleep well last night?" Alice asked softly. 0

Oliver nodded slightly. "Yeah, I can't find peace thinking about Leon's identity." There was a hint of bitterness in his voice. 0

Alice sighed. "I know you're angry; I feel the same way. But I can't shake off the feeling that Leon has his own struggles." 0

She tried to defend Leon, even though she herself had not fully accepted the truth. 0

Oliver frowned. "A hardship? He concealed such an important matter, nearly harming us and the entire village." His tone was filled with dissatisfaction. 0

Alice looked at Oliver, tears glistening in her eyes. "But Oliver, have you forgotten the wonderful times we spent with him? His kindness, his sincerity—were they all just lies?" 0

Oliver fell silent, recalling the days spent fishing by the creek with Leon, remembering how Leon had lent a helping hand when he faced difficulties. Those memories felt so real that he found it hard to easily deny Leon. 0

"Maybe you're right, Alice," Oliver said slowly. "But we can't just forgive him so easily. His departure will bring significant changes to our lives." 0

Alice nodded, fully aware that Oliver was correct. Leon's identity and the fact that he was about to leave filled her with concern for the future. She didn't know what their lives would become after Leon left, nor whether this newly mended friendship could truly withstand the tests of time and distance. 0

"Oliver, do you think Leon will come back?" Alice asked, looking at Oliver with hope in her eyes. 0

Oliver shook his head. "I don't know, Alice. No one can predict the future. But regardless, we must face it with strength." His gaze revealed a firm determination. 0

In the following days, Alice and Oliver fell into deep contemplation. 0

They began to reassess their relationship with Leon, pondering the value and significance of their friendship. 0

Alice resolved that regardless of whether Leon returned or not, she would continue to live in this village and use her medical skills to help more people. 0

Oliver also decided that he would protect this village, ensuring it remained a place of tranquility and beauty. 0

No matter how difficult the road ahead may be, they will walk hand in hand, ready to face new challenges together. 0
