After Leon proposed the plan to hold the castle and send for reinforcements, the atmosphere within the fortress remained as tense as a taut bowstring, ready to snap at any moment. Leon and Theodore stood atop the crumbling walls, gazing at the gathering army of the the Claudie Family outside, the weight of pressure in their hearts growing heavier. The densely packed enemy forces resembled a black tide, threatening to engulf them. 0

“Leon, do you really think we can hold out until our allies arrive?” Theodore's voice was slightly hoarse; days of fighting and the tense situation had left him exhausted, yet his eyes still shone with determination. 0

Leon did not answer immediately. He stared into the distance, his thoughts drifting back to the family's past. Once, their family's glory shone like brilliant stars, illuminating this land. But now, due to this war, they found themselves in a desperate struggle for survival. “Theodore, we have no other choice. Abandoning the castle is equivalent to abandoning our family's hope. Even if there is only a glimmer of possibility, we must hold on.” 0

Back in the castle's war room, the commanders gathered once more to review the current situation one last time. At that moment, a commander responsible for inventorying supplies reported anxiously, “My lord, we have very few arrows left, and our food and water can only last for two days.” 0

This news hit like a bombshell, making the already oppressive atmosphere even heavier. A young commander could not help but speak up, “At this rate, we won’t be able to hold out. We should take advantage of the fact that the enemy hasn’t launched a full-scale attack yet and evacuate quickly.” 0

Theodore's expression darkened; he was about to retort when Leon raised his hand to signal him to remain calm. Leon slowly stood up, scanning each commander present before speaking. “I understand everyone’s concerns; we are indeed facing tremendous difficulties. But think about it—what will happen if we evacuate? Will the the Claudie Family let us go? Our family and our loved ones will live under their shadow.” 0

The commanders fell silent; Leon's words plunged them into deep thought. After a moment, an older commander spoke up, “My lord Leon, you are right. But if we hold on, how do we deal with the enemy's attacks?” 0

Leon approached the large battle map and pointed at the terrain surrounding the castle marked on it. “Although we are short on supplies, the castle's geography is advantageous for us. We can utilize the narrow passages and high ground within the castle to set ambushes and wear down the enemy's forces. Meanwhile, our elite team has already set out; as long as they can successfully contact our allies, there is hope for us.” 0

Just then, a soldier rushed in urgently with a report: “My lord, the enemy has begun probing attacks!” 0

Leon and Theodore exchanged determined glances. Leon shouted an order: “Take your positions and prepare for battle! Remember, we fight for our family and for our honor!” 0

The commanders responded promptly and hurried to their posts. Leon and Theodore made their way to the walls to command the defense. Outside, under their leader's command, the the Claudie Family's army slowly advanced with siege engines. The massive catapults emitted a dull roar as boulders rained down upon the castle like heavy raindrops. The soldiers on the walls fought desperately to evade while retaliating with their dwindling arrows. 0

Amidst the fierce battle, Leon remained calm; he continuously observed the rhythm of the enemy's attacks and adjusted their defensive strategies accordingly. Theodore swung his battle axe fiercely, engaging in close combat with incoming enemies; his bravery inspired every soldier around him. 0

As time passed, the enemy's attacks grew increasingly fierce, and the castle's defenses began to show signs of weakness. During one particularly intense assault, a corner of the wall was breached, and the enemy surged in like a tidal wave. Leon, witnessing this, wasted no time in leading a group of soldiers forward to engage in a desperate battle. His longsword glimmered with cold light as it cut through the ranks of foes, each swing claiming a life. 0

In this life-and-death struggle, Leon's resolve only strengthened. He understood that every battle fought at this moment was crucial for the future of his family. He could not falter, nor would he. Meanwhile, Theodore fought valiantly on another front, displaying unwavering courage as he repelled the enemy's advances. 0

As night fell, the the Claudie Family's forces temporarily ceased their assault. Leon and Theodore returned to the castle, their bodies weary from the fight. They knew this was merely a brief respite; tomorrow's battles would be even more brutal. Yet, they remained steadfast, having made their final decision: regardless of the cost, they would hold the castle and await reinforcements, fighting for their family's honor and future. In that dark night, their faith burned like a blazing flame, illuminating the castle and lighting the path forward for their family. 0
