Xu Nancheng's heart skipped a beat. He had originally wanted to impress Lin Menghan, but who would have thought she would say it looked bad! And she did so without hesitation.
Objectively speaking, Xu Nancheng's photography skills were quite good. Although he hadn't taken many photos himself, it was just a natural talent.
Why, Lin Menghan? He felt utterly dejected, as if his heart were shattering. What should he do? He couldn't bear the thought of being disliked by Lin Menghan! He didn't want to lose her!
"Nancheng, don't you think this photo is missing something?" Lin Menghan blinked her bright eyes, sparkling with brilliance as she gazed intently at Xu Nancheng.
This left Xu Nancheng puzzled. Missing something? The sunset, the sky, and Lin Menghan's charming figure were all there!
He mentally retraced his steps, almost counting on his fingers, and indeed found nothing lacking.
With a confused expression, he asked, "It's not missing anything, Lin Menghan. Look, I captured you looking so beautiful, right?" He pointed at the photo, his eyes filled with grievance as he thought he had to turn this around.
"Pfft!" Lin Menghan couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Nancheng, who brags about their own work like this?"
Then she softly murmured, her tone filled with affection, "What's missing in the photo is you!"
That last sentence hit Xu Nancheng's heart like a warm bullet. Ahh, she was just too sweet! This made him like her even more.
Nearby, some single people watching the sunset suddenly felt that the sunset wasn't that beautiful after all; it was optional to look or not.
The two of them were completely oblivious to their feelings and continued enjoying their moment together.
"Lin Menghan." Xu Nancheng found himself at a loss for words; she was just too good at flirting!
"Come on! Let's take a picture together!" She said as she pulled Xu Nancheng over to stand side by side.
"Nancheng, put your arm around me," Lin Menghan said shyly.
However, Xu Nancheng hesitated. The fragrant and soft Lin Menghan was actually asking him to get close; this filled his heart with joy.
Yet deep down, he had a slight concern. "Lin Menghan, didn't I promise you before?..." He spoke in a low voice due to the many people around them, feeling somewhat awkward and shy.
"Oh come on, this time is an exception! I trust you completely!" Lin Menghan quickly explained. She knew that if they didn't seize the moment now, once the class bell rang and the sun set, today's opportunity would slip away until tomorrow.
Hearing this, Xu Nancheng nodded slightly and softly replied, "Oh." Then he extended one hand cautiously around Lin Menghan's back and slowly wrapped it around her slender waist. At that moment, a faint and elegant fragrance wafted towards him—Lin Menghan's unique scent.
In that instant, Xu Nancheng felt as if he were in a dream; his mood was incredibly joyful! This wonderful feeling intoxicated him as he couldn't help but exclaim: "Wow, this feels amazing! So fragrant! How can Lin Menghan's waist be so soft? I must be the happiest person in the world!"
"Alright! Hold that pose! Smile!" Lin Menghan cheerfully shouted, followed by a crisp click as the photo was taken!
Xu Nancheng gently held Lin Menghan in his arms; there was hardly any space between them. A sincere yet slightly shy smile appeared on his face—a smile as warm and pure as the spring sun.
Xu Nancheng gazed deeply at Lin Menghan, as if the entire world had faded away, leaving only this girl who made his heart race.
Lin Menghan smiled, her eyes sparkling with happiness as she quietly returned his gaze. At that moment, everything felt eternal.
"Look, this one is way better than the last!" Lin Menghan exclaimed excitedly, staring at the photo on her phone, her cheeks flushed like the evening sky. She eagerly held it out to Xu Nancheng.
"Yes! It really is much better than the last one!" He agreed, realizing that the improvement wasn't due to photography skills or the scenery itself, but rather because Xu Nancheng was in it.
"I want to use it as my wallpaper so I can see it every time I open my phone!" Lin Menghan continued, eager to share all her thoughts with her Nancheng.
"Sounds great! I want to do that too, so I can see this scene when I open my phone!" Xu Nancheng replied, suddenly reminded that he had the same idea.
"By the way, Lin Menghan, this phone belongs to Chen Yi; I need to return it!" He suddenly remembered that he had been showing off with someone else's device while Chen Yi hadn't even taken a picture yet.
Upon hearing this, Lin Menghan carefully handed the phone back to Xu Nancheng and together they went to return it.
"Thanks, Yi Ge!"
"Thank you for your phone, Chen Yi Ge!" Lin Menghan beamed brightly, her gratitude evident as she repeatedly thanked Chen Yi.
"No problem! We don’t need to say thank you among friends," Chen Yi laughed heartily, displaying a man’s characteristic generosity.
"Um, could you send me and Lin Menghan that photo later?" Xu Nancheng asked again, realizing that after taking pictures, they still needed to retrieve them from someone else's phone.
Chen Yi turned around and casually snapped a picture of the setting sun. The dying light was blood-red, revealing a hint of melancholy.
He stared at the photo and assured them, "Don’t worry, Nancheng! I’ll definitely send it to you both!"
