"Stop asking so many questions. Just go if you're told to!" Sister Na was unwilling to explain too much to them; for her, there were many things they didn't need to know. As the leader, she only needed to be aware of what was happening, and others didn't need to interfere. Moreover, she disliked anyone defying her orders. When everyone finished work, they still had to attend a meeting at headquarters. It was politely referred to as a meeting, but unkindly, it was just brainwashing—a pointless event. However, Liu Ru Yan sensed that this time it wasn't that simple. 0

"I have a feeling this isn't going to be easy," Liu Ru Yan thought as she gazed out the window of the car, talking silently in her mind with Lan Ruo Yi, who sat beside her, squinting and leaning against Liu Ru Yan's shoulder, appearing to be asleep to others. "Do you feel the same way?" Lan Ruo Yi shifted uncomfortably; Liu Ru Yan's shoulder was too bony and rather uncomfortable. 0

"What do you mean?" Liu Ru Yan suddenly turned to look at Lan Ruo Yi, causing everyone around them to glance over as well. Lan Ruo Yi stiffened slightly. "You! Turn your head back! Do you want to draw attention?" Lan Ruo Yi thought Liu Ru Yan was being a bit odd; such a big movement would definitely attract attention! Liu Ru Yan realized that her earlier action had been too conspicuous, almost like she was sick. She shyly glanced at their sales manager and future vice president, Li Meng, and smiled apologetically. "Sorry about that! I felt something crawling on me just now and got a bit carried away—don't mind me." 0

Li Meng nodded expressionlessly; in truth, she had no idea what had just happened. Her mind was occupied with another matter. Zhang Baofeng chuckled at the scene before him. "Hey, Xiao Liu, who was crawling on you just now? That was quite a commotion!" 0

Liu Ru Yan scratched her head sheepishly and remained silent. Seeing her like this made Zhang Baofeng lose interest; he initially thought this girl was quite amusing but now found her rather dull. The car fell silent again; Liu Ru Yan feared showing any unpredictable expressions and obediently leaned her head against Lan Ruo Yi's, their bodies pressed together in a comforting manner. 0

Li Meng cast an inexplicable glance at the two of them and exchanged looks with Zhang Baofeng in the passenger seat before quickly averting her gaze as if nothing had happened. "Ahhhh! Did I just mess up?" Liu Ru Yan shouted in her mind while Lan Ruo Yi frowned uncomfortably. "Stop shouting; my head is about to explode!" 0

"Oh? Then how did you notice?" Liu Ru Yan pressed on insistently for Lan Ruo Yi to share more details. Lan Ruo Yi's lips curled downward slightly in resignation; hearing Liu Ru Yan continue to pester her made her relent and speak up. "It was Sister Na's expression when she came back." 0

Lan Ruo Yi said this much and then fell silent again. Liu Ru Yan blinked in disbelief: "That's it? Just that?" She couldn't believe it and continued to question Lan Ruo Yi but received no further response. 0

"Why don't you ask me?" Liu Ru Yan was too curious; she admitted she wasn't very bright but couldn't accept such vague hints from others. The journey continued peacefully; after Liu Ru Yan's earlier commotion, the car fell into silence again as everyone pretended to doze off, while only Liu Ru Yan's thoughts remained active. 0

Sunlight streamed through the car window, illuminating Li Meng's calm face and the two who were leaning against each other. Zhang Baofeng rested alone against the back of the passenger seat. In a daze, Liu Ru Yan opened her eyes and looked out at the scenery passing by; a fleeting figure seemed familiar yet she felt quite tired. 0

As soon as Liu Ru Yan quieted down, Lan Ruo Yi quietly opened her eyes and glanced at Li Meng and Zhang Baofeng in the rearview mirror, who appeared genuinely asleep, a mysterious smile creeping onto her lips. Meanwhile, Li Meng and Zhang Baofeng shivered slightly in their sleep. 0

"Arrived! Get out," a sudden voice broke through the silence, causing all four passengers to wake from their drowsiness. However, upon closer inspection, it was evident that except for Liu Ru Yan, the other three had calmness lurking deep within their eyes. 0

"Then let's get out," Li Meng spoke first and exited the vehicle, followed closely by Zhang Baofeng and then Lan Ruo Yi. Last to linger in the car was Liu Ru Yan. 0

The four stood in a vast garden area that served as their headquarters; strangely enough, they were at a branch located about an hour away from headquarters where even finance personnel worked from there. The headquarters only housed the boss couple with no one else around; yet every time they held meetings here, it felt as if they had some mission—reporting here every month was mandatory. 0

As usual, they entered their branch office and took their seats. Unlike previous occasions, this time they were unusually quiet—there wasn't even any intention of conversing with other branches nearby. This caught the attention of others from different branches but before they could say anything, their president Jiang Nan approached. 0

The moment Jiang Nan appeared, Lan Ruo Yi realized something was off; sure enough, the next second she heard Liu Ru Yan’s voice echoing in her mind. "Oh my gosh! That tight leather outfit is so form-fitting! Is he here for training?" 0

"Oh my gosh! That’s quite an impressive physique!" Just as Liu Ru Yan’s thoughts faded away, a male voice chimed in nearby; upon hearing it, Liu Ru Yan felt like she had found a comrade. 0

Turning around quickly, she saw Zhang Baofeng sitting behind her with his arms crossed tightly over his chest and brows furrowed in confusion regarding Jiang Nan’s attire. 0

"You think so too? Xiao Jiang’s outfit is way too tight!" 0

"Exactly! With that look—how can this company function properly?" 0

The chatter grew louder around them; Sister Na sat at the front row—though she also disapproved of Jiang Nan’s tight leather attire—she felt these remarks were too blatant. 0

"Cough cough! Keep it down," Sister Na said while shooting them a warning glance; however, everyone else seemed captivated by Jiang Nan. 0

The more Lan Ruo Yi looked at Jiang Nan, the more familiar he appeared until suddenly it dawned on her—her eyes widened in realization. 0

"A Yan! Take another good look at who he is!" Lan Ruo Yi's serious voice echoed in Liu Ru Yan's mind. 0

Just as Liu Ru Yan wanted to retort that it was just Xiao Jiang anyway, something clicked in her mind as she stared intently at Jiang Nan—her gaze caught his attention momentarily amidst the crowd but he couldn't immediately pinpoint whose gaze it was. 0

Just when Jiang Nan began searching for the source of that stare, Liu Ru Yan suddenly ducked her head down: "Did I see that right?? Did I really see that right!!!!" 0

"You did not!" 0
