At the moment she first encountered it, Li Yingxue felt a chilling cold spreading from her arm throughout her entire body. This cold was unlike any ordinary chill found in the human world; it was a bone-deep cold that sent shivers through her. 0

"I'm really curious," she mused, "even if these people can't see you or hear you speak, can't they feel the temperature radiating from you at all? Do they really have no reaction whatsoever?" 0

In response to her question, Li Yingxue's soul offered no answer, remaining expressionless as she stared ahead. Suddenly, a voice filled with complaints came from the back of the car. 0

"Xu Shen, how are you driving? You almost hit me! Can you please ease up on the brakes?" 0

From the rearview mirror, it was clear that Li Yingxue had her head slumped against the seat, a patch of crimson already forming where she had struck it. 0

Xu Shen, with a face full of exasperation, felt utterly speechless. Wasn't Li Yingxue supposed to be in a deep sleep, resting and recuperating? Did that spirit's words turn out to be false, or could it be that recuperation only took a few minutes? 0

"Did you not notice? I saw you were already asleep just a moment ago, so..." 0

Xu Shen wore an innocent expression, but upon hearing this, Li Yingxue stared blankly in his direction. 0

"Right! Weren't we supposed to go eat hot pot? It feels like I just entered another space. What happened? I can't remember anything at all! Right now, my head feels so heavy; what on earth is going on? Did I hit my head when I fell?" 0

Li Yingxue was filled with questions. 0

After some contemplation and analysis, Xu Shen gradually arrived at an answer. It seemed that the spirit had affected this girl's memories, causing her to selectively forget some unpleasant ones. Xu Shen couldn't help but think that this spirit really had some skills. If only he could have such abilities to erase his own bad memories; there were many things he preferred not to recall. 0

"Are you pretending on purpose? If it's just about dinner today, I'll treat you. Is that really necessary?" Xu Shen asserted his straightforward nature. 0

Faced with such a question, she looked puzzled. "Do you think I'm that petty over a meal? I feel like today's events are far from simple! It's all too strange; there must be something more to it!" 0

Seeing Li Yingxue's attitude, Xu Shen turned his gaze toward the direction of the spirit, his expression one of disgust. 0

"Hey!" Xu Shen called out impatiently. 0

Li Yingxue had never seen Xu Shen behave in such a rude manner before; she was taken aback by his sudden outburst. 0

"What’s wrong?" she asked. 0
