"Up ahead is where I live. I'll pull over by the roadside, and we can switch places. I'll just head home directly," Xu Shen said, his tone dismissive as he glanced away from the spirit that had been haunting him. He felt a deep aversion to its presence. 0

Li Yingxue, confused by Xu Shen's sudden change in demeanor, couldn't understand why he was reacting this way. It was clear that Xu Shen's frustration wasn't directed at Li Yingxue himself; rather, it stemmed from the sight of the spirit floating in the car, which filled him with anger. He detested the spirit's peculiar way of existing. 0

"What's wrong with you? Are you angry?" Li Yingxue asked, perhaps out of curiosity. 0

Xu Shen stepped out of the car with a resolute stride, ignoring Li Yingxue's presence behind him. When Li Yingxue tugged at his shirt, Xu Shen still didn't turn around but stated firmly, "I've changed my mind. Let's postpone our hot pot outing to another day; today just doesn't feel right." 0

"What are you talking about? Is this some kind of joke? We finally have a good opportunity, and now you're backing out!" Li Yingxue's voice rose in frustration, his anger palpable as he spoke. His outburst echoed loudly enough to disturb the neighbors. 0

"Can't you keep it down? What’s with all the shouting?" one resident complained from an open window, clearly annoyed. 0

But then something unexpected happened. Just as the complaining neighbor was about to finish their sentence, they suddenly fell from their window above, landing with a sickening thud on the ground below. A pool of blood quickly formed around them. 0

Li Yingxue stood frozen in shock, his face pale as he processed what had just occurred. Xu Shen, however, understood all too well what had happened. He stared at the spirit in the distance, a sense of foreboding creeping over him. He couldn't believe that someone could suffer such a severe consequence for merely complaining about Li Yingxue's essence. 0

The spirit was indeed unpredictable and merciless. 0

Moments later, some officials arrived at the scene and quickly determined that the individual had fallen accidentally. After taking some photographs, they removed the body without much ceremony. 0

Xu Shen watched intently as they carried away the lifeless form, his gaze fixed on the spirit hovering nearby. The expression on its face showed no remorse; it seemed to regard the unfolding events as entirely justified. In fact, Xu Shen could have sworn he saw a smirk on its face as it watched the body being taken away—an unsettling display of callousness. 0

This was the first time Xu Shen witnessed Li Yingxue's spirit cause harm to an innocent person in such a brutal manner. 0

The most important thing is that this soul has never felt any sense of guilt. In fact, everything that angered him, every person or event, after facing such retribution, only made him feel that it was all deserved. 0
