Xu Shen could only secretly feel relieved, unsure of what this guy had not investigated clearly. If the truth had already been revealed, would he have ended up like the person before him yesterday? As he imagined himself in that situation, a chill enveloped him, causing him to tremble. Just then, a voice came from behind. 0

"Young man, what's wrong with you?" A neighbor nearby noticed Xu Shen's dazed expression and asked with concern. 0

"I'm fine, thank you!" Xu Shen stammered, shaking as he spoke. He turned to see where Li Yingxue was but found no trace of her after searching around. After some inquiries, he learned that Li Yingxue had left with a group of people just moments ago. 0

However, her departure was not voluntary; everything that had just happened unfolded right before her eyes. The inherently delicate Li Yingxue had fainted from fright at the sight of it all. 0

Seeing that Li Yingxue was no longer there, Xu Shen slowly made his way home. As soon as he stepped inside, he felt as if all his strength had drained away, and he collapsed onto the floor. 0

"Do you also enjoy the darkness?" The voice of the spirit echoed again, piercing through the atmosphere. A chilling aura enveloped Xu Shen as he sensed that this entity had followed him back. 0

"Aren't you supposed to be at the hospital checking on Li Yingxue? Why are you still following me?" 0

The spirit did not respond but let out a cold snort, clearly mocking Xu Shen for asking such a question without thinking. 0

Having lost all strength in the room, Xu Shen sat there for a long time, struggling even to stand up. 0

"Are you really planning to stay here all night?" The voice came again. Judging by its proximity, the spirit seemed very close, intensifying Xu Shen's discomfort. 0

"Can you move away from me?" 0

It seemed his request was met with some compliance because when the voice returned, it was evident that the spirit had indeed moved further away. 0

After experiencing all these events, Xu Shen still hadn’t emerged from the shadow they cast over him. All he wanted was to sit quietly alone for a while. He had no mood to discuss anything else; the incident of the person falling from the building replayed in his mind like a film reel, each scene lingering vividly as if it had just happened. 0
