Wen Qian smiled brightly in the photo, her bright eyes and pearly white teeth accentuating her delicate curves. The sight of her, especially the hint of her blossoming figure, made A Jian's heart race uncontrollably. His wrist, which had been moving almost dislocatingly, recalled many passionate moments spent with Wen Qian, filling him with excitement that left him breathless and dizzy. The heat surged within him like a fountain, spilling onto Wen Qian's sheets. 0

A Jian grabbed two tissues to clean himself up. Initially intending to toss them in the trash, he suddenly had a clever idea. He carefully folded the tissues into a neat half the size of a playing card and tucked them into Wen Qian's photo album before placing it back on the shelf. After finishing, he lay down on the bed and soon fell asleep. 0

The next morning, Wen Qian came to wake him because he needed to help drive to pick up the bride. A Jian donned an awkward suit while Wen Qian shot him sideways glances, unable to contain her laughter. 0

Wen Qian's family had arranged twelve cars of various sizes for friends and relatives. A Jian hopped into one of the CHRYSLERs as they set off in a grand procession to fetch the bride. The bride was said to be a colleague of Wen Zhi from work; their relationship blossomed over time due to proximity. 0

After navigating winding country roads, they arrived at the bride’s home. Following an astonishingly complicated series of rituals, the groom finally managed to escort the bride into the car. She was indeed stunning, her figure exquisite, and in her pure white gown, she radiated youth and beauty. 0

In an instant, the small village erupted with drums and firecrackers as the wedding party returned triumphantly. In a rush to keep to schedule, the wedding procession sped along, even traffic police waved them through while honking horns in congratulations. They barely made it before noon for the auspicious time to enter. 0

The bride was led from the ceremonial car into a flurry of traditional rites and procedures that seemed endless. A Jian was truly taken aback by it all. He spotted Wen Qian among the crowd; she looked fresh and pleasant as the newlyweds prepared to pay respects to their ancestors. A Jian leaned over and whispered to her, “Once this is all over, pack your things and come with me; let’s skip these formalities.” 0

Finally, the newlyweds were ushered into their bridal chamber, but since it was still daytime, they couldn’t engage in any intimate activities just yet. Instead, they had to let the bride sit like a monkey in the Bride's Room for guests to admire. 0

A Jian accompanied Wen Qian as they greeted guests attending the wedding. Although the banquet would take place in the evening, preparations were already underway outside Wen Qian’s home with tents being set up and tables arranged by busy caterers. 0

Stealing a moment alone, A Jian and Wen Qian slipped into a room for some intimacy. However, feeling constrained in her own home, Wen Qian only allowed A Jian to touch her through her clothes. Though it was frustrating for him, he found some satisfaction in it. 0

As evening approached and guests began arriving for dinner—albeit slowly—there were enough tables set for over forty guests waiting for everyone to gather. 0

Being part of the groom's family meant Wen Qian had many responsibilities. She brought A Jian over to sit with colleagues of the newlyweds at their table and introduced him as "Sister of the Groom," which sounded rather complicated. 0

A Jian observed his tablemates; one particularly stood out—a middle-aged man with a perpetual frown who was said to be Wen Zhi's manager. Across from them sat a young couple; the wife was Wen Zhi's assistant while her husband worked as a section chief in another department. Despite his young age, he was already balding around his crown and had an unseemly appearance. While his wife sat beside him looking displeased, he lavished attention on a woman sitting on his left without any regard for his wife's discomfort. 0
