Xu Shen chose not to say anything further and slowly walked toward his workstation. Just as he was about to reach his desk, he couldn't help but wonder what expression the manager had at that moment. He turned around and stole a glance at Manager Li, but what he didn’t expect was that the look they exchanged felt entirely different from before.
It was as if he could see Li Yingxue's spirit, and the realization sent a chill down Xu Shen's spine. Did Manager Li know everything?
But all of this was merely speculation. For now, Xu Shen considered himself lucky to have escaped a potential disaster and returned to his workstation without engaging in conversation with anyone.
As usual, once he settled into his workspace, he switched on his computer and began tackling the necessary tasks with a serious demeanor.
He remained in this focused state until he heard the sound of the office door opening. At that moment, Xu Shen felt a wave of relief wash over him; he knew that the only person who could leave at this time was Manager Li, which meant he was no longer under surveillance.
Just as Manager Li stepped out, Xu Shen suddenly heard Li Yingxue's spirit speak again from above him.
"Li Yingxue doesn't seem to be in good spirits today; you should go comfort her!"
Upon hearing this voice, Xu Shen's expression darkened. It felt as though this spirit was always lingering around him, no matter where he went.
"Can you stop following me everywhere? Do you even let me have time to work? Am I not entitled to a little personal space? Why don’t you just stay in the restroom where you belong? Isn’t that your favorite spot?"
Li Yingxue's spirit seemed unfazed by his complaints; instead, she gestured for him to come closer.
Initially, Xu Shen had no intention of anything beyond getting closer to her, but what happened next left him completely stunned.
Li Yingxue's spirit actually kissed him—a surreal experience that felt like a dream. Yet it was undeniably real; in that fleeting moment of contact, Xu Shen felt an icy chill enveloping him, reminiscent of their first encounter with her spirit. This coldness was something no ordinary person could emit.
