I looked at her coldly. "Liu Ke, there's no need for you to waste your efforts. I won't lend you my shoes. I have a cleanliness obsession; I find used things dirty."
Liu Ke was exasperated. "Zhao Wu, what do you mean? Do you think I want to borrow your clothes? You're just jealous that I have more friends than you and that people like me more."
Gao Xiao and Shan Qingqing heard my words but were still willing to help Liu Ke. "Zhao Wu, we're all classmates; we should help each other."
I sighed helplessly. "If you want to help her, go ahead. But I must remind you to be cautious in everything."
With that, I had nothing more to say; when the time came, I could only respond as needed.
I refused Liu Ke's request to borrow clothes, and she looked down on the old clothes of Gao Xiao and Shan Qingqing. With no other options, Liu Ke spent two hundred coins to buy a new outfit.
When Liu Ke returned with her new shoes, Gao Xiao and Shan Qingqing tried to ease the tension by complimenting her outfit. "Liu Ke, your clothes feel really nice and aren't too expensive."
"Yeah, you really know how to shop," they added.
Liu Ke smiled and said, "Next time, I'll take you to the store where I bought these; they have many beautiful clothes."
As class time approached, everyone began to organize their books. I packed my things. "It's getting late; I'm leaving first."
Liu Ke winked at Gao Xiao and Shan Qingqing. They understood and stepped forward, linking arms as they walked toward the door together.
"Liu Ke, let's go together," one of them said.
"Sure!" Liu Ke replied.
The three of them walked together, looking very close. In my previous life, Liu Ke used similar tactics to sow discord and isolate me from my roommates.
This time, I wouldn't give her the chance.
I calmly walked out of the room, turned right, and headed toward the classroom. When I arrived at the classroom, the other three had also arrived.
Liu Ke leaned in front of me, gazing into my eyes. "Sister Wu, your makeup skills are so good. Why won't you help me with my makeup?"
I curled my lips into a cold smile. "Your face isn’t my masterpiece. Why should I help you with your makeup?"
Liu Ke linked her arm with mine. "We're in the same dormitory; helping you is like helping myself, right?"
I smirked again. "You have so many pimples on your face; you shouldn't even be using makeup. If I help you and it gets worse, you'll just turn around and bite me back."
Suddenly, Liu Ke started to cry loudly. "If you don't want to help me, that's fine, but why do you have to mock me for having acne and say I'm ugly? Looks are given by our parents; how can you say that about me?"
She began to perform for herself, and the classmates around us kept glancing over and whispering.
I frowned. "This is a classroom, not a dormitory. Please don’t disrupt the class."
Liu Ke seemed about to say something else when she noticed the Teaching Assistant walking in, and she immediately quieted down.
"Hello, everyone. I am your Teaching Assistant. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me at any time," the Teaching Assistant announced.
"Thank you, teacher," we replied in unison.
The Teaching Assistant nodded and reminded us to pay attention in class before leaving.
After one large lecture ended, Liu Ke had added a few more people to her friend list. One was the Teaching Assistant from the classroom, while the others were classmates from our department.
Unlike in my previous life, this time I didn't do her makeup, and her face was marked with acne scars and uneven makeup that had worn off. Many of the wealthy classmates who had previously been attracted to her looks because of my superior makeup skills did not add her this time.
