I said coldly, "You can forget it; there's no way I will agree."

mother Lin chimed in, "Exactly! My daughter is young and beautiful; many people like her. It's clearly your son who is clinging to her desperately."
My son grew anxious. "Mom, please stop! I really like A Jiao and want to marry her; just agree!"
I said coldly, "Le An, do you really want to be with this woman?"
He nodded. "Mom, I'm sorry. I truly love A Jiao; you don't understand my feelings. I can't blame you for that; in this life, I must be with A Jiao."
I looked at him coldly. "If you insist on being with her, then you're no longer my son."
He impatiently replied, "Mom, please don't force me; I'm definitely going to be with A Jiao."
I could see the resentment in my son's eyes as he questioned me unhappily about why I had to break him apart from Lin Jiao. He surely thought that I looked down on Lin Jiao and was doing this intentionally.
At that moment, murmurs began to rise around us.
