Three years later. 0

At the Northwest Launch Center Base, the command center was in countdown mode, with the entire nation and even the world focused on China's first spacecraft to land in outer space, the Shenzhou Spaceship. 0

Inside the spacecraft, four astronauts donned their flight suits, feeling a mix of anxiety and anticipation. The success of the rocket launch not only affected their lives but also determined whether their significant mission could be accomplished. 0

The rocket roared to life, ascending into the sky—one hundred meters, one thousand meters, ten thousand meters. Under countless cameras' watchful eyes, it gradually broke free from Earth's gravity and was successfully sent into outer space. The spent fuel tank detached and plummeted back to Earth. Finally, the vessel, resembling an ark, unfurled its solar sails in space, relying on solar energy as it began its long journey to Mars—a realm of outer space that humanity had yet to reach. 0

Once free from Earth, everything seemed normal inside the flight module named Zhonghua Ark. 0

“Ark One, Ark One, this is Chang Jiang Eight. Please report your status!” 0

"Cabin One is normal!" 0

"Cabin Two is normal!" 0

"Cabin Three is all clear!" 0

"…" 0

After a few minutes, there was still no response from Cabin Four. 0

"Four, Four, please respond!" The base urgently inquired over the communication channel. 0

Beep beep beep— 0

After a burst of static, an odd tune suddenly filled the communication channel between Cabin Four and the base on Earth, followed by raucous cheers. 0

"Ahem, this is 'Chinese Shenzhou' broadcasting live from space for all you folks back on Earth. Now, let's welcome the charming astronaut Lu Feifan to serenade you with a love song in honor of our great planet." 0

He paused for effect. 0

"Sister, you sit at the bow while I stand on the shore; look, there's a plump girl over there. Let me touch your waist; you're so flirty. Touching your face, you're just my type. Touching your hand, come with me tonight. Let me touch your back; let's chat tonight. Come on, girl…" 0

What followed was utterly unbearable content. The base quickly cut off the channel as several important leaders exchanged awkward glances in the control room, particularly the director responsible for the launch, who was sweating profusely. 0

Nearby, Colonel Long Chui, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and a cigarette dangling from his mouth, looked utterly helpless and somewhat frantic. "Lu Feifan, when you get back to Earth, I’ll have you hanging out to dry for three nights straight!" 0

"Commander, it seems you've tried that tactic on him before!" a Major Assistant quietly reminded him. 0

Long Chui's expression turned icy as she recalled that rogue currently singing his self-composed lewd song "Eighteen Touches" in outer space. He had once sneaked into her dorm on a particularly stormy night and ended up being subdued by her. She had tied him to a pole and left him out all night long, even whipping him several times. Yet that rascal from the Federation Academy had somehow managed to turn his cries of pain into something almost seductive, making her feel as if she were punishing him for her own amusement rather than out of anger. 0

The mischief he had caused during their three years of training could fill a book of several hundred thousand words. Now he was singing such disgraceful songs in front of several high-ranking officials during an inspection—of course it infuriated her to the point where she wished she could fly into space right then and there to take him down. 0

Months later. 0

The spacecraft finally arrived at the designated location. Under the sunlight, two massive, earthy-yellow planets loomed close together. Through the Cosmic Capsule, they could see the vast, parched surfaces of these planets, with some kind of energy spots shimmering beneath their crusts. 0

“Ostrich One, Ostrich One! Flying Fish has reached the designated area, please advise,” Lu Feifan requested over the channel. Beside him were three other astronauts, all gazing out at the immense expanse of space. In the presence of such colossal planets, their human spacecraft seemed no larger than a mere insect. 0

After a few minutes, a crackling response came through from the base. Due to their great distance from Earth, there was a noticeable signal delay. However, they received a set of coordinates, and the spacecraft began to navigate toward this new destination on the opposite side of the two giant planets. 0

Gradually, they began to see numerous asteroid belts surrounding the ship. The spacecraft emitted warning beeps as the Data Analysis System initiated its assessments, causing some of the machinery to become unstable. 0

“Not good! The spacecraft is becoming unstable.” 0

“Activate the shield!” 0

“Deploy the solar power panels; we need enough energy to reach the designated area!” 0

Inside the cabin, several astronauts, including Lu Feifan, swiftly and efficiently rushed to their stations to execute a series of operations. As they soared through the vastness of space, a white protective shield slowly enveloped the spacecraft. 0

After a while, the abnormal data experienced by the Zhonghua Ark was transmitted back to Earth via satellite. 0

“Leaders, come quick!” 0

Several scientists, including Li Mingtai and Long Chui, gathered around the person who had called out. That individual activated a display screen and imported the data! 0

“Hurry, analyze and assess the environmental data!” 0

A stream of analytical data began to flood onto the screen. 0

Li Mingtai and over a dozen scientists stared at the screen in utter disbelief. Some professionals were left speechless as they processed the gradually revealed analysis results. 0

“This… this level of radiation…” 0

“From the data, the radiation zone conceals a vast amount of elements. The analysis of the elemental structure reveals lithium, aluminum, magnesium, thorium, plutonium... My goodness, this... this combination amounts to... to a super hydrogen bomb!” The scientist was breathless, almost in disbelief. 0

“What would happen then?” Long Chui asked anxiously from the side. 0

“Its power is enough to destroy an entire planet!” A nuclear physicist, after reviewing the lengthy data, managed to remain somewhat composed. “From the data we’ve received so far, it seems that Ark has entered a massive radiation zone, likely caused by a tremendous explosion!” 0

“Could it really be the explosion of Mardek Planet?” 0

“Mardek Planet?” 0

“I don’t know... Mardek, also known as Fahertong Star, is theorized to exist based on unreliable Ptolemy's Theorem. It’s said to be the fifth planet in the solar system, with a history of existence spanning millions of years. Its technological civilization was even more magnificent and advanced than our current Earth civilization, but for some reason, it was ultimately destroyed.” A young scientist recounted this information as if he were sharing a cherished tale. 0

“It must be it; there’s no doubt.” At that moment, Li Mingtai stared intensely at the data on the screen. “Although... I can’t be certain, I believe that the asteroids in the asteroid belt are remnants of the original planetary disk. Coupled with this explosive material and the extraordinarily large radiation zone beyond the planet, I think Mardek Planet Civilization may have indeed existed.” 0

“The spacecraft has arrived at the designated star region!” someone shouted from the hall. 0
