As dusk fell, the two Daoists, who had been drinking for three days and nights, finally collapsed. 0

The Black-Clad Taoist took another swig of wine, belched, and said to the Gray-Robed Daoist, "Junior Brother, it's getting late. I need to head back. I won't be borrowing your Azure Wind Antelope anymore... *burp*... I'm off now... *burp*..." 0

The Gray-Robed Daoist was so drunk that he could barely keep his eyes open. He nodded absentmindedly and continued to doze off on the stone bench. 0

The Black-Clad Taoist mustered what little energy he had left, grabbed the wine jar, and poured more into his Wine Gourd, not forgetting to take a generous swig himself. Afterward, he hoisted the heavy Wine Gourd and staggered up into the clouds. 0

Normally, the Black-Clad Taoist would stand atop the clouds, surveying the mountains and rivers below with an air of majesty, coming and going like the wind. But today, intoxicated, he lost control of the clouds, flying erratically up and down, left and right, swaying dangerously as he focused solely on drinking. 0

"What's the big deal about an Azure Wind Antelope? How stingy can you be not to lend it to me for a few days? After all those years we cultivated together... Next time I catch a dragon, I'll make you green with envy... *burp*..." 0

Suddenly overshadowed by a dark shadow, the Daoist looked up just in time to see a cliff wall before crashing into it. Stars exploded in his vision as he tumbled down from the clouds. 0

With a loud thud, the Black-Clad Taoist landed flat on his back against the rocks. After a moment, he slowly propped himself up and began to search for his precious Wine Gourd. He felt around left and right in confusion, wondering why there were two Wine Gourds. 0

He examined each one closely. The yellow one on his left was indeed his Wine Gourd; however, the white one on his right had appeared out of nowhere and was even gleaming with golden light. 0

The Black-Clad Taoist burped again and chuckled as if he had struck gold. He shook his old companion, the Wine Gourd that had been with him for hundreds of years. "Old buddy, you've found yourself a wife so quickly! You even understand that beauty can cover flaws. Come on, let's head back home to celebrate and have some little gourds of our own." 0

As he spoke, he hugged both Wine Gourds and climbed back onto the clouds, continuing his perilous flight home. 0

Xuan Qing was an ordinary loose cultivator. Before becoming a Rogue Immortal, his path in cultivation was quite smooth; the only hiccup came during his tribulation when he faced the legendary Nine Thunder Tribulations—the last of which had only appeared once before. 0

At that time, when that bolt of thunder struck him through his body, Xuan Qing understood that he was doomed. Thus, he forcibly dispersed his physical form and abandoned his corporeal body to ascend as a Rogue Immortal. 0

Though a Rogue Immortal is stronger than an ordinary cultivator, it does not equate to being a true immortal; rather it is a forced choice made after failing one's tribulation. Every thousand years thereafter, he would have to face another heavenly tribulation. After ten such tribulations, bypassing Earth Immortal, Spirit Immortal, True Immortal, and Celestial Being stages altogether would allow him to ascend directly to Supreme Golden Immortal of Da Luo. Had Xuan Qing not encountered the Nine Thunder Tribulations, he would have ascended as a Spirit Immortal instead. Thus, ascending as a Rogue Immortal came with its own set of gains and losses. 0

Three days prior, while cultivating in his bamboo hut, Xuan Qing suddenly heard the sound of his junior brother's Red-Crested Crane calling out. The crane brought him an invitation—a sight that always made Xuan Qing feel frustrated because it meant his junior brother was showing off again. 0

Upon opening the invitation, he confirmed his suspicion: his junior brother had tamed an Azure Wind Antelope and invited him to celebrate with Millennium Aged Brew. 0

Watching his fellow cultivator proudly patting the Azure Wind Antelope's head filled Xuan Qing with silent resentment as he continued drinking heavily until they both ended up in a drunken contest that culminated in him collapsing onto the stone table. 0

When he awoke from his drunken stupor, Xuan Qing had no recollection of how he arrived at his place of cultivation. As he rose from the cold ground, he noticed a large egg beside him—larger than any Wine Gourd—thinking it must have fallen from some bird's nest while he was drunk. He tossed it aside without further thought. 0

Gradually sensing something amiss—he felt as though something behind him was jumping around when he wasn't looking—every time he turned around to check, the egg remained still but had shifted positions. 0

He picked up the egg for examination but found no answers; thus he placed it back down again. Just as he turned away again, there was a thud sound behind him. He spun around instantly; yet again the egg sat motionless but had moved from below to above. 0

Strange indeed. 0

It was truly peculiar. Xuan Qing raised his hand and struck the egg fiercely towards Dusting Whisk. The egg quickly stood upright, jumping away with a thud, while Dusting Whisk hit the solid stone table, causing Xuan Qing's hands to tingle from the impact. When he looked back at the egg, it had already settled down, appearing as if nothing had happened, exuding an air of innocence and tranquility. 0

What a clever yet foolish egg it was. 0
