He is the Paladin who sealed the Dark Witch, Alice! 0

I twitched at the corners of my mouth, thinking: this truly is a case of Fated Rivals! 0

Now, I have become a Fallen Witch with zero power, while he has turned into a Bankrupt Knight. 0

Oh my goodness! What kind of magical beginning is this? 0

I feel like my quest hasn't even started, and it's already about to end prematurely. 0

"So, you, a Dark Witch who almost destroyed the world, can now only use magic to light a fire?" Alan looked at me incredulously as I struggled to ignite the firewood on the stove with my trembling fingers. 0

"Is that embarrassing? At least it's better than you only knowing how to chop wood with a sword," I shot him a glare and replied irritably. 0

Ever since Alan rescued me to this rundown house, my daily tasks have consisted of trying to restore my pitiful magic points and dealing with Alan, this stubborn and somewhat slow-witted Paladin. 0

Though he claims to be wary of me, his actions betray him; he brings me meals on time every day and even gave me the only thick blanket in the house. 0

I must admit, this Paladin may be down on his luck, but he has a decent heart. 0

"And do you think lighting a fire is easy? I used to cast spells directly. Using firewood in such a primitive way is an insult to my magical talent," I continued to argue. 0

Alan shook his head helplessly and began preparing breakfast. He took out yesterday's leftover dark bread and some unknown berries. 0

"Let's go to the town and take a look today. It seems that some strange things have been happening lately," he said while slicing the bread. 0

"What kind of strange things? Are the townsfolk dancing in the square at midnight?" I replied casually, grabbing a piece of black bread. 0

"No, it's the well in town. For the past few nights, it's been making strange noises, and the water has become murky. The mayor is quite worried," Allen explained. 0

At this point, a familiar scenario flashed through my mind: a well undergoing a transformation—there must be some evil creature at work! 0

"Let's go check it out," I said excitedly, shaking off my earlier laziness. 0

This was my first step back to greatness! 0

I followed Allen to the well at the Town Center, where a crowd of townspeople had already gathered. 0

"Hey, what do you think is wrong with this well? It makes those creepy noises every night; it sends chills down my spine," said a Fat Aunt. 0

"Who knows? Maybe something unclean is living in there," an old man chimed in. 0

I stepped forward to examine the well closely. The soil around the opening was somewhat loose, and the water was indeed murky, carrying a faint fishy smell. 0

"There's definitely something off about this well," I said, frowning. 0

"What can you tell?" Allen asked curiously. 0

"In this well, there shouldn't be anything unclean, but rather some kind of Underground Creature," I analyzed. "It could be a large Worm or a creature that thrives in dark and damp environments." 0

Alan listened to my analysis, his eyes filled with confusion. 0

"How do you know all this?" he asked. 0

"Because I've read a lot about magical creatures," I replied evasively. 0

In truth, I had never read any books on magical creatures; all of this knowledge came from what I had observed in the animal kingdom. 0

"Since you know what it is, can you deal with it?" Alan pressed on. 0

"Of course I can," I said confidently. "I just need a few things." 0
