Ye Ya looked at Lu Tianyang, who resembled a wolf that had been starved for days, just released from captivity. She quickly pressed his hand down. "Lu Tianyang, I don’t want to. My whole body hurts; please don’t touch me anymore."
Lu Tianyang released her hand, his brow slightly furrowed. "Now you know it hurts? Why didn’t you think about that when you were fighting?"
Ye Ya sniffled. Sometimes, when this woman acted weak, even the hardest iron could melt. She got up and wrapped her arms around Lu Tianyang's waist. "You’ve scolded me all night. If you had come earlier, I wouldn’t have fought with anyone else. Besides, it was all for you."
Look at that, the more she spoke, the more aggrieved she sounded, as if Lu Tianyang had bullied her, making him feel embarrassed to continue.
He held her head against his chest. "Alright, don’t be sad anymore. I won’t touch you if you don’t want me to."
"Okay, you said it yourself. Now move aside; I want to check on Chen Chen." Ye Ya got up from his embrace and quickly put on her clothes, escaping the room like she was fleeing for her life. She couldn’t rest easy without checking on her precious daughter.
Lu Tianyang snorted. Don’t think he would let her off the hook tonight; just because he said he wouldn’t touch her now didn’t mean he wouldn’t later. So, the young master decisively went to take a shower, preparing to wait in bed after he was done.
When Ye Ya arrived at the nursery, she initially wanted to see if the little one needed to be fed. However, the baby was already sound asleep. After confirming this, Ye Ya felt relieved and returned to their room only to find the man sprawled on the bed like a lazy lion, holding a book and looking quite charming.
Seeing her return, Lu Tianyang waved his hand. "Wife, come here; I need to talk to you."
Ye Ya thought he had something serious to discuss and walked over. Just as she was about to ask why they were talking in bed, she sat down and was suddenly pulled under the covers by Lu Tianyang.
She gasped in surprise. "Why aren’t you wearing any clothes?"
"What’s the point of putting them on if they’re just going to come off? It’s a hassle," Lu Tianyang replied and swiftly stripped Ye Ya of her nightgown with practiced ease.
"You promised me you wouldn’t touch me! You’re not keeping your word." Ye Ya was furious; was he really that impatient?
"I promised earlier, but I didn’t say I wouldn’t now. Wife, be a little obedient; otherwise, I might hurt you again. Don’t worry; I’ll be gentle." With that said, Lu Tianyang was very efficient in these matters; before long, Ye Ya found herself unable to speak from his relentless teasing.
After a long while, with the moon high in the sky, Ye Ya lay on the bed breathlessly. "Lu Tianyang, you’re not human."
"Wife, go to sleep." Lu Tianyang tenderly covered her with a blanket and held her close.
"I don't want to talk to you anymore." Ye Ya turned her back to him, feeling that he always bullied her in situations like this; he was simply inhuman.
Lu Tianyang realized that having her back turned while she slept had its advantages, as he could wrap his arms around her waist. Well, this wasn't so bad after all.
Ye Ya slapped his hand away, clearly displeased. "Take your hand off me, stop bullying me."
"Wife, I want to sleep like this. Don't move around too much; if you provoke me, you'll have to take responsibility," Lu Tianyang half-threatened in her ear.
Ye Ya felt like she could die from frustration but didn't dare to move again. She knew this rascal wasn't joking, and she was indeed tired. She decided not to engage with this rogue any longer.
Listening to her steady breathing, Lu Tianyang knew Ye Ya had fallen asleep. A smile crept onto his lips. He didn't want to be like this, but this woman was simply too much—how could she dare to fight for another man? It was outrageous, and he couldn't help but teach her a lesson.
However, now that he had stirred up trouble with someone from Longmen, Lu Tianyang couldn't just ignore it. Besides, it was his own wife who had been bullied; if he didn't seek revenge, could he still call himself a man?
At the Longmen headquarters, Long Shaotang looked at the four guys who were beaten black and blue and slammed his hand down on the table, causing the teacups to rattle. "What do you mean you got beaten up by a woman?"
"Yes, that woman was the one who was dumped by Jing Hao and later married into the Lu Family—Ye Ya," the four of them stood there with their heads bowed, forcing themselves to recount what had happened.
"Damn it! You four still have the nerve to say that? I want to see what kind of woman she is," Long Shaotang's fingers tapped rhythmically on the mahogany chair.
At that moment, the woman who had claimed to be harassed by Jing Hao walked over and pressed against his chest. "Shaotang, don't be angry anymore; I'm fine now, right?"
Long Shaotang was not one to show pity for women. Looking at Bai Yu's flirtatious demeanor only annoyed him further. "Get out of here."
Bai Yu hadn't expected Long Shaotang to be so furious; she held her breath and quickly retreated, wondering what had gone wrong.
Jing Hao had stirred up trouble with Longmen and didn't dare go out after returning home. When Jing Huaisheng heard about the situation, he couldn't believe that this brat had chosen to provoke someone from Longmen. Long Shaotang was no ordinary person. After thinking it over, he reluctantly decided to seek help from the Lu Family.
Lu Tianyang had developed the Lu Family into its current state not just because of luck. As he listened to the call from the Jing Family, he raised an eyebrow; he had known last night that they would come seeking assistance.
However, thinking about how Jing Hao had actually sent Ye Ya to help him made him frown. Moreover, the Jing Family had caused Ye Ya a lot of trouble in the past; they were very clear about debts among relatives. Lu Tianyang was a businessman—this was how shrewd merchants operated.
"Oh, about that, my wife was startled by Jing Hao last night and is in a bad mood. I need to stay home with her, so I probably won't have time to deal with this matter," Lu Tianyang said, holding Ye Ya in his arms. Hearing his words, Ye Ya couldn't help but look up at him. Who said she was in a bad mood? Who said she was startled?
As soon as Jing Huaisheng heard this, he understood what Lu Tianyang was trying to do. It was better to seek Lu Tianyang's help than to have Jing Hao missing a hand. "What Jing Hao did was wrong. I'll drag that little brat over to apologize later."
"Dad, I'm not going," Jing Hao said, feeling embarrassed about what happened last night. Now he had to go plead with Ye Ya just to save himself; he would never be able to hold his head high in front of her again. In fact, in Ye Ya's mind, whether Jing Hao could hold his head high had nothing to do with her.
"If you don't go, how are you going to face the people from Longmen? Do you still want your hand?" Jing Huaisheng's face turned red with anger. It was his own son; he couldn't just stand by and watch him suffer.
"Son, listen to me. Go apologize to Ye Ya. If the Lu Family doesn't intervene, the people from Longmen won't let this go easily," Mrs. Jing said, deeply concerned for her son. Ye Ya had been the one they broke off the engagement with; now they had to go beg for forgiveness. Mrs. Jing felt a bit embarrassed about the situation.
At Yiju Mountain Villa, Ye Ya looked at Lu Tianyang and asked, "Hey, what's going on? What are you up to now?"
Lu Tianyang gently patted her head. "I'm giving you a chance to vent your anger. When the Jing Family comes over later, you can let it all out however you want. They won't dare say anything."
"Ah?" Ye Ya was somewhat confused. When the Jing Family came to apologize for her, she had once hated them for being so ruthless and lacking any compassion. But after having Chen Chen, those feelings didn't matter anymore.
"Especially Jing Hao! He actually let you fight for him last night, and now he’s come begging for help—what a scoundrel!" If it weren't for their somewhat related ties, Lu Tianyang would have beaten him senseless.
"Lu Tianyang, what exactly is going on?" Ye Ya tugged at his tie.
"Last night he offended someone from Longmen, and now he's come asking us to smooth things over for him. Honey, don't worry about it; let me handle it. Just focus on venting your anger and being happy; I won’t let anyone bully you," Lu Tianyang said seriously while holding her shoulders.
"And what about when you bully me?" Ye Ya shot him a glare.
"Then hit me! Hit me hard! How could I ever bully you? I could never bear it," Lu Tianyang replied with a laugh, finding it amusing that she always seemed to be on top of him.
"How could it be anyone else? You big pervert! The person who bullies me the most is actually you," Ye Ya retorted before pinching the flesh on his shoulder.
Lu Tianyang understood her teasing and smiled proudly. "Wife, when we're in bed, you have to listen to your husband. That’s not bullying; that’s love! Now let’s go eat breakfast."
"You lecher!" Ye Ya exclaimed playfully as they held hands and went downstairs for breakfast. Chen Chen was being well taken care of by the servants and was watching them with wide eyes.
Lu Ba was in a great mood, holding his daughter on his lap while having breakfast. "Chen Chen, would you like to eat a little bit so you can grow up fast?"
"She's still small; can she eat? Let me hold her for a while," Ye Ya said, putting down her milk and moving closer to take the child.
"No need, you eat. I'll hold her for a bit and see how well-behaved Chen Chen is. She must love being held by her dad," Lu Tianyang replied, one hand cradling the baby while the other continued to eat.
The Jing family arrived quickly. Last night, Jing Hao had been beaten badly, and seeing his condition made Ye Ya want to laugh, but she forced herself to hold it in and asked Guo Ma to take the child upstairs.
"Xiao Ya, I'm really sorry. It's my son's fault for being so thoughtless. Please forgive him," Mrs. Jing said with a stern expression. If it weren't for needing Lu Tianyang's help, she wouldn't have to lower herself to speak to Ye Ya like this; it felt as if she was degrading her own status.
Lu Tianyang glanced at them and cleared his throat. "I see you don't have any sincerity in this matter, so let's forget it. No need to force it; just go back," he waved his hand dismissively, showing he didn't want to deal with the situation at all.
"Lu Tianyang, this trouble was caused by Jing Hao. Please, for the sake of him being your cousin, help him out. Otherwise, that kid's hand won't be saved," Jing Huaisheng said as he took a seat; after all, he was still Lu Tianyang's elder.
"What does this have to do with me? Look at him; he got my wife beaten too. Why should I help him?" In high society, it's always about stepping on those below you. Did they think about today when they bullied Ye Ya?
Jing Hao lowered his head, recalling how scared he had been last night hiding behind Ye Ya. He felt like less of a man and questioned whether he even had the right to ask for her forgiveness. Moreover, he didn't dare think back on how outrageous he had been in the past.
