Long Shaotang was lecturing his unruly younger brother when he noticed a call from Fu Wan Jing. He furrowed his brow, wondering what this woman wanted from him.
He waved his hand, and Long Shaofeng immediately dashed away like a rabbit, disappearing in an instant.
“Hello, what’s the matter?” He crossed his legs, feeling somewhat impatient.
“Long Shaotang, let’s collaborate. Don’t you like Ye Ya? I have a way to help you win her over.”
Long Shaotang raised an eyebrow slightly; he was curious about what this woman was up to again.
“Are you not interested?” Fu Wan Jing didn’t hear a response from Long Shaotang and wondered if he had lost interest in Ye Ya.
“Go on, I’m listening,” Long Shaotang wanted to know what her plan was. He indeed liked Ye Ya and found himself comparing every woman he met to her.
Although he didn’t want to be at odds with Lu Tianyang, he still desired Ye Ya; she was such a unique woman.
Fu Wan Jing shared her plan with Long Shaotang, and after finishing, she smiled slyly. A woman like that falling into his lap—how could he refuse?
“Well?” Fu Wan Jing wasn’t in a hurry.
“Fu Wan Jing, why are you doing this?”
On the other end of the line, Fu Wan Jing laughed. “I love Lu Tianyang, and you like Ye Ya. It’s that simple.”
“Alright, it’s a deal.” Long Shaotang couldn’t hold back any longer. Ye Ya was the first woman in many years who had truly captured his heart. Besides, the Lu family didn’t treat her well; being with him would be no different. He would never allow anything bad to happen to Ye Ya.
At Yiju Mountain Villa, Ye Ya and Lu Tianyang slept soundly until evening. When Lu Tianyang woke up and looked at the woman beside him, her black hair spread across the bed like ink, so serene. He reached out and gently gathered her long hair in his hand.
Ye Ya shifted slightly, gradually waking up. She rested her head on Lu Tianyang's hand and moved a bit. "Lu Tianyang, I want to sleep a little longer."
"Okay, sleep a bit more. I won't disturb you," Lu Tianyang replied, looking at her with deep affection. Unable to resist, he pulled her closer and kissed her gently. He watched as she fell back asleep.
Thinking about the previous night spent in the detention center made Lu Tianyang's heart ache; how could he possibly sleep well after that?
It wasn't until after eight that Ye Ya finally woke up. After she had fallen asleep, Lu Tianyang quietly got out of bed. Guo Ma and the nanny had just finished bathing Chen Chen, and the little one waved her tiny hands at Lu Tianyang, wanting him to pick her up.
Lu Tianyang took Chen Chen from Guo Ma's arms and kissed her cheek, his stubbled face making Chen Chen giggle uncontrollably.
"Young Master, should we arrange dinner now?" Guo Ma asked. Having watched Lu Tianyang grow up, she now saw Ye Ya and their child growing as well. Lu Tianyang held a great deal of respect and trust for Guo Ma.
"Let's arrange it. She’s been sleeping all day; it’s time for her to eat something," Lu Tianyang said as he carried Chen Chen into the room. Ye Ya was already awake, and before she could reach out, Chen Chen was eager to leap into her arms.
"Chen Chen, isn't it better when Daddy holds you?" Lu Tianyang said, feeling a twinge of jealousy.
"Honey, let me hold her for a while. Come here, sweetheart, Mommy will hold you," Ye Ya said as she pulled back the covers. The little one managed to sit up with some effort, grabbing Ye Ya's hair in delight.
"Wife, get up and wash your face; it’s time for dinner. You've been sleeping all day; you need to eat something," Lu Tianyang urged.
Hearing the way he addressed her made Ye Ya's lips twitch slightly. Was he trying to coax Chen Chen or her?
But speaking of which, she was indeed quite hungry; now that she was awake, she felt like she could eat a whole cow.
Guo Ma had prepared a lavish dinner. Ye Ya picked up a glass of red wine and said, "Honey, here’s to your successful business negotiations."
"Wife, from now on, call me like this. Then I wish your company great success too; I’ll help you," Lu Tianyang replied, knowing that Tao Momo's company was already under renovation.
Two cups clinked gently together, producing a crisp sound, celebrating the reunion of their family. After finishing dinner and resting all day, both felt invigorated as they carried Chen Chen into the garden.
It was summer, and the night sky, devoid of the moon, was particularly clear, with stars scattered like a well-arranged chess set.
Lu Tianyang held Chen Chen on his lap while Ye Ya sat beside him. They quietly enjoyed the coolness of the night breeze, a truly blissful moment.
She rested her head on his shoulder, a kind of happiness she had never dared to imagine before.
No one spoke; only Chen Chen sat on Lu Tianyang's lap, smiling. After about half an hour, as the night breeze dispersed the summer heat, Ye Ya worried that Chen Chen might catch a chill and said, "Honey, let's go back."
"Okay," Lu Tianyang thought it was indeed time to return. It had been almost a week since he last held her. Besides, he had rested well during the day and should be feeling energetic now.
Ye Ya lulled Chen Chen to sleep and followed Lu Tianyang back to their room. Just as they entered, Lu Tianyang suddenly pushed her against the door, which clicked shut with a soft thud. Ye Ya was taken by surprise and pushed against his chest, saying, "What are you doing? You scared me!"
"Wife, I haven't seen you in a week. I missed you," Lu Tianyang said without further ado as he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her. His kiss was urgent, and Ye Ya gradually melted into him, leaning entirely against him.
Unable to resist, she returned the kiss. However, this action prompted Lu Tianyang to lift her up and carry her toward the bed. Ye Ya wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his hair, feeling shy about looking at him.
He set her down on the bed and positioned himself over her, looking down into her eyes. "Wife, did you miss me?"
Ye Ya turned her head away, unable to meet his fiery gaze and unwilling to answer his question.
But Lu Tianyang wasn’t going to let her off that easily. He turned her head back toward him, not allowing her to evade him. His tone was as gentle as water. "Wife, tell me honestly—did you think of me while I was away?"
Caught in a dilemma and blushing deeply, she felt her heart racing even faster as he pressed on. "Yes," she finally admitted under the weight of his tenderness.
Upon hearing this, Lu Tianyang grinned like a fool and gently pinched her nose. "Good girl! Your husband will take good care of you and make it up to you."
This compensation nearly exhausted Ye Ya. When she got out of bed the next morning, her back ached as if it didn't belong to her. She knew that this man would not let her off so easily.
Tao Momo was furious to learn that Ye Ya had been treated like a thief by the Lu Family and locked up for a night. She was on the verge of going to settle the score but was persuaded by Ye Ya to hold back.
Ye Ya repeatedly urged her to rest well, assuring her that she would handle the renovation matters. Qi Fan, on the other hand, was in a tough spot; he had nothing to do with it but was being mercilessly dealt with by Tao Momo. Yet, he found himself enjoying this side of her, leading him to suspect he might have a masochistic tendency.
Ye Ya felt fortunate to have a good friend like Tao Momo in her life.
Thanks to Lu Tianyang's clear stance, life went on relatively peacefully. Although Lu Old Man was anxious, he only asked Lu Tianyang to bring Chen Chen back home. Du Huiru had visited Chen Chen twice. As for Ye Ya, the Lu Family still believed she was unworthy of being their Young Mistress.
In truth, if it weren't for Fu Wan Jing, the Lu Family might have accepted Ye Ya by now.
Ye Ya didn't mind; as long as they wanted to see Chen Chen and didn’t take the child away, she had no objections. After all, Chen Chen carried half of the Lu Family's blood.
Half a month later, Ye Ya's company was officially renovated. Lu Tianyang and Qi Fan both found time to see how their woman had transformed the place. Naturally, it couldn't compare to the Lu Family's standards; even a small branch of the Lu Family was larger than this.
However, seeing Ye Ya's excited expression made Lu Tianyang feel pleased. Although the place wasn't large, it was elegantly decorated. Tao Momo was quite proud, saying, "Qi Fan, from now on I’ll be a boss too; don’t think you’re so impressive every day."
Qi Fan rubbed his nose; his aunt had never said anything like that before.
At that moment, someone walked in carrying a flower basket. "Is Miss Ye here?"
Ye Ya raised an eyebrow and glanced at Lu Tianyang. After all these years as a couple, why bother with such cliché gestures? Lu Tianyang’s expression darkened at the thought of some scoundrel sending flowers to his wife.
"It’s not from you," Ye Ya remarked curiously. After signing for the delivery from the florist's assistant, she pulled out a card from among the flowers. It simply read: "Wishing you all your dreams come true and a wonderful day."
The message was quite ordinary, but when Lu Tianyang saw the signature at the bottom, his face turned as dark as an ancient judge's.
"Darling, when did you get so close to Long Shaotang?" Lu Tianyang couldn't help but feel a surge of jealousy. He could arrange a flower house for her if she wanted flowers, yet this damned Long Shaotang somehow knew that her company had finished renovations today.
Ye Ya looked innocent, glancing at her husband's expression as if she had really strayed. Unable to hold back, she slammed her hand on the table. "If I had known that day, I wouldn't have saved him! Honey, you have to believe me; I absolutely didn't do anything to betray you."
"You saved him, wife. When did that happen?" Lu Tianyang's heart raced with alarm. Did Long Shaotang have his eyes on his wife?
Ye Ya sighed. "Do you remember the last time I came home late? I was taking that jerk to the hospital on the way. I didn't think much of it at the time. Really, it was just that."
Tao Momo stifled a laugh nearby, thinking somewhat unkindly: She had never seen Lu Tianyang jealous before; now there was an opponent. Let’s see if he dares to bully Ye Ya again.
"This flower cannot be accepted. You can't talk to him in the future either; keep your distance, understand?" Although Lu Tianyang said this, he cursed inwardly: Long Shaotang, do you really want to lay your hands on my woman? If I don't take care of you, I won't be surnamed Lu.
Ye Ya quickly nodded; she had never intended to have anything to do with Long Shaotang. "Don't worry, honey. I know."
Seeing her so obedient made Lu Tianyang feel a bit better. He signaled the younger brother who had delivered the flowers to throw them away. The delivery guy hesitated for a moment and asked, "Are you sure you don't want them?"
"If you don't get rid of those damn flowers right now, do you believe I'll throw you out the window?" Lu Tianyang was furious, scaring the delivery guy into quickly taking the flowers away. It was quite a loss; those flowers had been airlifted from Holland and were not cheap at all.
