Long Shaotang was indeed bold, daring to touch even a lady. It was only right for Long Shaoxue to apologize for her brother. As Zuo Kai thought this, he felt much calmer; if they were ungrateful, then he wouldn't need to be righteous.
When Zuo Kai arrived at Ning University, he was preparing to enter the campus to look for someone, but unexpectedly, the person he sought came right to him.
With the incident at Longmen and his elder brother missing, Long Shaoxue had no choice but to leave school. At school, she was an exemplary student, admired by her teachers, and no one knew she was the sister of the Longmen Young Master.
"Miss, please don’t worry. The Young Master might just be out having fun," said the driver, who had been with Long Shaotang for many years. He had checked the records and found that Long Shaotang had been taken away by the Special Police Unit; those who took him were well-connected, and even if he wanted to pull some strings, no one dared to help.
"Chang Shu, that’s impossible. My brother isn’t someone who lacks discretion. I’ve told him repeatedly not to engage in such business. Now that someone is aggressively acquiring Longmen’s assets, it must be the work of enemies. He has offended so many people; do you know which family it is?" Long Shaoxue had never involved herself in Longmen's affairs; aside from those close to her, no one knew she was the young lady of Longmen.
Just as she finished speaking, Zuo Kai stopped the car. "Miss Long, our CEO requests your presence."
Long Shaoxue assessed the man before her; he was quite handsome. Her brows furrowed slightly as she asked, "Who are you?"
"Don’t you want to know about your brother? If you want to find out, get in the car," Zuo Kai said, glancing at her delicate appearance and worrying that if he wasn't careful, he might crush her.
"Miss, you can't go with him! The current situation with Longmen is all due to the Lu Family's schemes," Chang Shu interjected, stepping in front of Long Shaoxue.
"You have no say in this," Zuo Kai replied with a slight smirk.
"Chang Shu, I’ll go with him; it’s fine," Long Shaoxue said. She wanted to understand what was happening and who her brother had offended. Since they had come looking for her, she needed to find him to devise a plan.
"At least you know how to be sensible," Zuo Kai said as he opened the car door for her. Long Shaoxue took a seat in the back.
"Miss, please be careful. I’ll find someone to rescue you as soon as I return," Chang Shu said anxiously. Lu Tianyang from the Lu Family was definitely not someone to take lightly; letting her go now would surely lead to trouble.
"Chang Shu, just wait for my news," Long Shaoxue shook her head. There was no point in harboring resentment.
Sitting in the car, Long Shaoxue studied Zuo Kai. Although he wore a cold expression, her intuition told her that he wasn’t entirely bad; perhaps she could extract some information from him. "What’s your name? Can you tell me why you’re here?"
Zuo Kai ignored her, knowing that the president had instructed him to bring her back, and he didn't need to concern himself with anything else.
Long Shaoxue was unwilling to back down. "Hey, why are you so rude? Someone like you will never find a wife in the future."
Zuo Kai's lips twitched slightly. "Keep talking and I swear I'll stuff a foot towel in your mouth."
Long Shaoxue had a mild case of obsessive cleanliness, and hearing such a disgusting description from Zuo Kai made her feel like her pores were wide open.
"Disgusting! It's not just you people; what's so different about you all being this gross?" Just as Long Shaoxue finished speaking, Zuo Kai slammed on the brakes. Caught off guard, her head slammed forward against the seat in front of her. She held her head and exclaimed, "Hey! How can you drive like this? What if you kill me?"
Zuo Kai restarted the car and accelerated, making it speed like a race car. Long Shaoxue clutched the handrail tightly. "Slow down! Ah!"
Zuo Kai swerved left and right on the road, causing Long Shaoxue's face to turn pale. By the time they reached a house halfway up the hill, she was already feeling dizzy.
Zuo Kai glanced at her, showing no signs of sympathy as he yanked her out of the car. Unable to hold it in any longer, Long Shaoxue doubled over and vomited all over him, even bringing up last night's dinner.
A wave of nausea hit Zuo Kai, and he felt an urge to strangle her. Long Shaoxue looked up apologetically. "Sorry... ugh." She leaned against the car and continued to retch.
Damn this girl; she really knew how to make things difficult. If he didn't deal with her now, she was just here to suffer for Knife Brother. No need for courtesy; this bastard even dared to come down from Lady.
Zuo Kai grabbed Long Shaoxue like an eagle catching its prey and dragged her inside. She was so dizzy from vomiting that she had no strength left to resist.
"Bind her up!" Zuo Kai's face turned green with anger as he headed upstairs to change clothes for a meeting with clients.
He then called Lu Tianyang to inform him that he had brought her back. Lu Tianyang studied the distribution map of Longmen, contemplating how to swallow it whole. People in business, especially enterprises like the Lu Family, naturally had their hands in many pies.
The dock at Longmen had been operating for many years and was a significant part of its wealth. Lu Tianyang nodded slightly and simply instructed, "Keep an eye on her for now; I'll arrange things."
“Understand that I will definitely treat her well,” he thought, feeling a surge of anger at the audacity of her spitting on him. She must be tired of living.
Zuo Kai, with a fierce expression, walked into the adjacent room. Long Shaoxue was tied up like a crab and thrown onto the bed. She had just vomited so hard that it felt like her bile was coming up. Was it really necessary for him to react this way just because she accidentally got sick on him?
“You’re not a man,” Long Shaoxue spat, though her defiance was weakened by her current predicament.
“It’s not for you to decide whether I’m a man or not. Let me tell you, since you’ve crossed me today, you can expect to suffer—no, it should be worse than death; it should be your damned brother who deserves this,” Zuo Kai said, lifting her chin with his finger. “You’re not bad looking, but what a pity. You’ll end up in the hands of people in South Africa. I hear it’s normal for them to see a hundred clients in a day.”
“What? You scum! My brother won’t let you get away with this!” Long Shaoxue’s anger flared at Zuo Kai’s words, and she wanted nothing more than to bite his finger off.
“Scum? That term should describe your brother, right? Oh, I forgot to mention—your brother is in prison. If he wants to get out, he might as well dream on.”
“What did you say? What have you done to my brother?” Long Shaoxue knew that most of the operations at Longmen were shady dealings, but Long Shaotang was her brother, the closest person to her. Even if she didn’t like him, she couldn’t just abandon him.
“You should be asking what your brother has done. I’m not going to waste my breath on you. Just stay here and don’t think about escaping; you won’t get out.” Zuo Kai closed the door behind him. To be honest, she wasn’t bad looking; it was just unfortunate that she was Long Shaotang’s sister—she had drawn the short straw in life.
