Ye Ya looked at him, wondering if this man could come up with any new tricks aside from threatening her with this one. Lu Tianyang secretly chuckled to himself, feeling no remorse whatsoever. What mattered most was the effectiveness of his approach, and he believed this tactic was the best one; old or not, it worked.
Ye Ya couldn't outmaneuver him and finally sighed, "Lu Tianyang, you scoundrel."
He didn't mind at all. Holding her close, he rested his head on her shoulder. "Wife, let's remarry quickly."
"You wish! I think things are just fine as they are. I don't want to be your wife again; I’ve just managed to escape from that wolf's den." This statement infuriated Lu Tianyang, who promptly tossed Ye Ya onto the bed. He felt it was necessary to teach her a lesson.
In the heat of the moment, Ye Ya suddenly remembered a serious issue. "Lu Tianyang, today isn’t a safe period."
Upon hearing this, Lu Tianyang grinned like a fox. "Wife, it's fine. We don’t need to; we can save some money." With that, he thrust forward, completely ignoring Ye Ya's concerns.
Afterward, Ye Ya felt hurt and shot an angry glare at Lu Tianyang. "You jerk! Do you really want me to take that medicine?" The medicine was harmful to her body and was only recommended in dire situations.
Lu Tianyang exploded in anger. "What medicine are you talking about, Ye Ya? You dare to take it? Try it!"
Ye Ya looked at him, his expression fierce as if he were about to swallow her whole. In truth, she felt completely innocent.
"Why are you being so harsh with me? Do you think I want to take it? Do you want me to have two illegitimate children? Lu Tianyang, you scoundrel! You only care about your own pleasure; you don’t give a damn about my well-being!" As she spoke, Ye Ya felt like she was the one who had the most reason to be upset.
While carrying Chen Chen, she had endured so much suffering that only she knew about. This man was utterly selfish.
"Wife, how can you say I don’t care? If you really do get pregnant, then we’ll have the baby. It’s not like I can’t support it. Don’t worry; things are different now. I will absolutely take responsibility and be a good husband, okay?" How could he ever allow her to take medicine that would harm his child?
"I won’t have any more kids! If you want children, go find another woman! Don’t touch me!" Ye Ya huffed coldly. He only cared about his own satisfaction; he insisted on not using protection. If she ended up pregnant again, what would happen to her job? She didn’t want to rely on him for everything anymore.
"Fool, I just want you to give birth. You're the only one who can be the child's mother. Don't be upset; maybe there's a son in there," Lu Tianyang said with a smile, rubbing her neck and pulling her closer.
"See? I knew you didn't truly love us. You favor sons over daughters; you only want a boy," Ye Ya retorted, twisting his words into something completely different. Lu Tianyang gasped, "Wife, that's not what I meant! I like daughters too; as long as it's your child, I'm happy."
"That sounds nice, Lu Tianyang, but who would believe you?" Ye Ya turned away again, only to be pulled back by him, feeling frustrated inside.
"Why can't you trust me, dear? When have I ever lied to you? Let's not argue anymore, okay? You're always so stubborn," he said, gently patting her head and giving her a kiss. He thought to himself how foolish it was that she doubted his sincerity. If only he could show her his heart to prove it.
"You always bully me. But Lu Tianyang, let's keep things as they are; I don't want to get a marriage certificate." Ye Ya felt that getting married would bring too much pressure; it was better this way.
"Foolish girl, don't give up your legal rights. I don't like the term 'ex-husband,'" he replied. She was willing to stay this way, but he didn’t want that either. He thought about how he was a new generation of young talent—wealthy and good-looking—wondering why she didn’t appreciate him.
"What legal rights? Your mom will just find some agreement for us to sign later anyway. What's the point? As it stands now, even if you marry someone else, you wouldn't owe me anything." In truth, she wouldn’t be with another man anyway; getting married or not felt pretty much the same.
"That won't happen, foolish wife. How about we go get a notarization tomorrow? All my assets will belong to you," he suggested. Maybe then she would feel more secure; her lack of confidence stemmed from her own issues.
"I don't want your money, Lu Tianyang. I don’t want people thinking I'm with you for your wealth."
Lu Tianyang chuckled and lifted her chin. "Wife, then what are you with me for? Come on, tell me."
Ye Ya pushed his hand away. "I won't say! It's time for bed; stop holding me so tightly—it's hot."
"Hehe, silly girl. Goodnight." With that thought of her taking medicine gone from his mind, Lu Tianyang felt much better. Still, he thought it was a good idea to ensure that if anything ever happened to him in the future, both of them would have some security.
At least if he were no longer around, he could ensure that their lives would be comfortable. Of course, she wouldn't let her know this thought. Although the woman wouldn't admit it, he knew she was still quite anxious about her situation.
The next morning, Du Huiru arrived at Yi Ju Mountain Villa early. Seeing that her son hadn't come home for so many days and hearing that he had been living here, she couldn't believe it. Hadn't he divorced that woman? Why was he still with her?
Sister Ji went to call for someone, and Lu Tianyang was momentarily stunned. What was his mother doing here so early in the morning?
Ye Ya remained calm. Now that they were divorced, she no longer had to worry about Du Huiru's displeasure. She changed her clothes and was preparing to head downstairs.
Lu Tianyang followed behind her, and as they descended together, Du Huiru was nearly driven to a fit of rage. "What are you doing here, Lu Tianyang? Have you lost your mind?"
"Mom, why can't I be here? I want to tell you something—I plan to pursue Xiao Ya again, regardless of whether you agree or not." Lu Tianyang was determined; this time, he wouldn't let Ye Ya slip away.
"Ye Ya, why are you still shamelessly hanging around here? How far do you intend to harm my son?" Du Huiru blamed Ye Ya, believing it was her seduction that kept her son from marrying Wan Jing.
"Mrs. Lu, your son is the one clinging to me. Please get your facts straight." In the past, Ye Ya would never have dared to speak to Du Huiru like this, but now she truly wasn't afraid of her anymore. So indeed, there were benefits to being divorced.
Du Huiru couldn't tolerate Ye Ya's attitude and walked over, ready to slap her. However, Ye Ya wasn't going to take that anymore. Before she could strike, Lu Tianyang grabbed Du Huiru's hand. "Mom, are you going to hit someone again? Do you think violence is the solution? I want to marry her; if you have any objections, direct them at me. As for Wan Jing, I've made it clear—I will not marry her."
