Later, A Shan arrived with a very handsome doctor.
Qiao Nuo thought that everyone around Jin Chengyan was quite attractive. Just look at Yan Beiting and this doctor; A Shan also belonged to that category of cool, charming men.
Qiao Nuo quietly stayed in the kitchen. Since Jin Chengyan had mentioned he was hungry, and there were usually no servants at home, she took it upon herself to make porridge for him.
A Shan came down from upstairs and politely said to Qiao Nuo, "Thank you, Miss Qiao, for promptly informing me that the young master is unwell. Doctor Qi is attending to him; apart from a fever, there’s nothing serious to worry about."
A Shan rarely spoke this much to outsiders. Even Alice, who was often by Jin Chengyan's side, had never seen A Shan so talkative.
However, Qiao Nuo felt that A Shan wasn’t cold at all!
But she actually hadn’t been too worried about Jin Chengyan...
"Um, I... wasn’t worried..." Qiao Nuo stirred the porridge in the pot while glancing at her watch. It was still early, and she shouldn’t be late for work.
But it was Jin Chengyan who had insisted she take a good rest!
Thinking of this, Qiao Nuo stirred a bit faster, causing some porridge to spill over the edge of the pot.
"Miss Qiao, please take good care of the young master." With that, A Shan bowed deeply to Qiao Nuo, startling her so much that she felt a bit unsteady.
"Um... I will... take good care of him." Well, perhaps A Shan saw her as a servant and that’s why he entrusted her with this task!
Upon receiving Qiao Nuo's response, A Shan chuckled, his laughter pure and unpretentious.
Then, Dr. Qi came down from upstairs and entered the kitchen.
"A Shan, your young master is fine; just make sure he takes his medicine on time," Qi Ziluo said, taking out the medication and placing it on the kitchen counter. "You are a servant of Jin Mansion, right? This box contains medicine to be taken three times a day, two pills each time. This is an oral solution, to be taken once in the morning and once in the evening. Do you remember?"
Qiao Nuo nodded.
"Dr. Qi, Miss Qiao is not a servant here," A Shan clarified for Qiao Nuo.
"Oh?" Qi Ziluo exclaimed in surprise, his gaze falling back on Qiao Nuo. "No wonder! I thought A Yan was so particular that even the servants had to meet such standards!"
Qi Ziluo chuckled lightly, while Qiao Nuo felt a bit embarrassed.
"I apologize for any offense; I hope you can forgive me," Qi Ziluo extended his hand to apologize to Qiao Nuo.
Qiao Nuo didn't mind Qi Ziluo's misunderstanding. "It's alright..."
Their hands clasped briefly before Qi Ziluo withdrew his hand. "Hello, I am Qi Ziluo, A Yan's personal doctor."
"Hello." Qiao Nuo wasn't sure how to introduce herself, so she opted not to say anything.
Qi Ziluo seemed to be more than just Jin Chengyan's personal doctor because he continued, "Your relationship with A Yan must be special since you've moved into Jin Mansion. Shouldn't you start calling him 'brother-in-law' soon?"
Qiao Nuo was left speechless.
“Qi Doctor!” A Shan stepped in to block Qiao Nuo.
Qiao Nuo quickly turned around to look at the porridge in the pot.
Qi Ziluo took Qiao Nuo's shyness as a cue, saying, “Miss Qiao, we’ll see each other next time.”
“Um…” Qiao Nuo could only stir the porridge to cover her embarrassment.
Qi Ziluo walked out with A Shan, but she could still hear Qi Ziluo asking A Shan, “Is your young master really coming? Can this Miss Qiao truly surpass that person’s influence and take charge of the Eastern Palace?”
Qiao Nuo didn’t catch what A Shan replied, but she knew that the person Qi Ziluo mentioned must be Ruan Shengyu.
“Ah…” Lost in thought, Qiao Nuo placed her hand on the edge of the pot and burned herself, snapping back to reality with a red mark on the back of her hand.
She composed herself and ladled the cooked porridge into a tray, along with the medicine, and headed to Jin Chengyan's room.
