That night, Jin Chengyan's punches seemed even more ferocious. A Shan took several solid hits and finally succumbed, leaning against the soft barrier and waving his hand at Jin Chengyan.
Jin Chengyan tore off his gloves and tossed them aside, taking the water offered by his assistant and gulping down several mouthfuls.
"What's gotten into you today?" A Shan had sensed from the beginning that something was troubling Jin Chengyan, and it had cost him dearly in the ring.
Jin Chengyan frowned. "Do you think the idea of social status is deeply ingrained in your godfather's mind?"
A Shan thought for a moment before nodding.
Jin Chengyan shot him an exasperated glance.
But that's just how things were. If Jin Zhongshu didn't hold such strong views on social standing and didn't look down on Ruan Shengyu's background, perhaps Jin Chengyan would have already brought her into the Jin family.
He always felt that the obstacle between him and Ruan Shengyu was familial expectations.
"But if a relationship can be hindered by external forces, can it still be called true love?"
Jin Chengyan glanced at A Shan, unwilling to admit the truth in his words. He coldly replied, "You little brat, what do you know about love? You've never even been in a relationship."
A Shan chuckled softly; indeed, he was just a rough man who didn’t understand love.
"But I know who makes you happy and who makes you feel troubled."
"Oh? Go on then."
"When you are with Miss Qiao, you seem very happy, often wearing a smile. But when you are with Miss Ruan, it's all about scheming, managing, and guessing—applying the same tactics you use in business to her."
As Qiao Nuo spoke, Jin Chengyan's face indeed revealed a smile that he wasn't even aware of. However, when he heard Ruan Shengyu's name, his brow instinctively furrowed.
"Enough!" Jin Chengyan suddenly called out to A Shan.
He recalled the passionate kiss he shared with Qiao Nuo that day. For the past few days, he had deliberately avoided Jin Mansion, as if trying to escape from it all.
"A Shan, does your godfather know something? Is that why he mentioned renovating Jin Mansion?" Jin Chengyan suddenly thought of something. That day, Jin Zhongshu had brought up Jin Mansion out of the blue. He initially thought it was just small talk from his father, but after mentioning Ruan Shengyu, he had pushed that thought aside.
Now that he considered it again, it was definitely not that simple.
A Shan was momentarily taken aback.
Jin Chengyan immediately stood up and stepped off the stage, heading back to the dressing room to shower and change.
However, he was still a step too late.

"Miss Qiao, how are you finding living here?" Jin Zhongshu said gently.
Qiao Nuo returned from work today and opened the grand door of Jin Mansion. Just then, she heard a honking sound behind her. Turning around, she saw a Lincoln parked across the street with its window rolled down. Inside sat Jin Zhongshu!
Soon, the two arrived at the mansion.
Qiao Nuo felt a bit flustered and finally asked Jin Zhongshu if he preferred tea or warm water. But then she realized, he was the host here!
"I'm quite accustomed to it." Qiao Nuo was puzzled about how Jin Zhongshu suddenly appeared here; Jin Chengyan hadn't informed her in advance.
As for Jin Zhongshu, he didn't seem as cold as the rumors suggested. He appeared much like Qiao Nuo's father— a middle-aged man with a touch of gray in his hair, who could still show a smile when interacting with younger people.
"Mr. Jin, please don't misunderstand. I’m staying here solely because Mr. Jin kindly offered help, knowing I had nowhere else to go. I will move out as soon as I find a place to stay. Mr. Jin is truly a good person." Without any rehearsed lines, Qiao Nuo felt uneasy saying this.
Jin Zhongshu chuckled lightly, "A Yan is a good person."
A chill ran down Qiao Nuo's back.
"What do you think of the Jin family?"
