“Big Sister—” Qiao Chen rushed home in the morning, only to find the house empty, with only the bloodstains in the kitchen reminding him of what had happened.
He immediately contacted Qiao Nuo and learned that Qiao Kawai had an incident last night and was sent to the hospital.
“It’s okay, Qiao Kawai has already woken up,” Qiao Nuo reassured her brother.

“Let’s go inside first. Qiao Kawai has woken up; she needs something to eat.”
“I bought breakfast for the little cutie too…”
“No need for that. You don’t have to worry about our family matters.” Qiao Chen firmly rejected him, not giving Jin Chengyan a chance to show concern.
Qiao Nuo merely cast another glance at Jin Chengyan before following Qiao Chen inside. Neither of them paid much attention to him.
“Sister, was Jin Chengyan here last night?” Qiao Chen recalled seeing Jin Chengyan leave the previous evening.
At that time, he had wondered why Jin Chengyan had rushed off just before mealtime; it turned out he had gone to see his sister.

Qiao Kawai's eyes lit up instantly!

"I'll remind you once more, she is Qiao Nuo, not Faye!" Jin Chengyan declared with authority. No one could take Qiao Nuo away from him, not even Xi Yisheng, who had spent four years with her.
"You—" Xi Yisheng wanted to say something more, but the call was abruptly ended by Jin Chengyan.
Not only did he hang up, but Jin Chengyan also changed Xi Yisheng's contact note back to his original name and set his phone to block calls from that number.
After doing all this, Jin Chengyan finally felt at ease as he returned to the hospital room and set his phone down.
Around the same time, Qiao Nuo came back. Seeing Jin Chengyan still there, her brows instinctively furrowed.

I won't go back on my promise to a child. Take good care of yourself and don't lose weight," Jin Chengyan leaned closer to Qiao Nuo, "If you lose weight, it won't feel good to hold you."
Qiao Nuo pushed Jin Chengyan away. Was he... being inappropriate?
"When I'm not around, Qi Ziluo will help take care of you. Qiao Chen is fine as a younger brother, but as the head of the family, he still needs a few more years of training.
