"Dead?"
Hou Tian was taken aback, a mix of bitterness and joy swelling in his heart. By the time he regained his composure, Su Mingxian was already preparing to close up shop.
He hurried over, a broad smile on his face as he said, "Sister Xiao Xian, wait a moment! My Brother Chi Zi really loves the Liangpi you make. Please save a portion for me."
Su Mingxian paused for a moment, slightly surprised. Brother Chi Zi? In his past life, his friends had called him that too, but she had never seen this person before her. It must be a coincidence.
Not thinking much of it, she unconsciously prepared a serving according to Shen Chi's tastes for him to take home.

Shen Chi had been busy for several days, thoroughly searching through the information provided by the Mechanical Factory, but he couldn't find anyone who met the requirements. This left him feeling quite frustrated.
Could it be that this Wang Daguo was lying? Was he actually a fraud?
His daughter-in-law was so beautiful; how could she be with someone with the surname Wang? That would be dangerous!
The more Shen Chi thought about it, the more troubled he became. Over half a month had passed with no news at all; it was as if this person had vanished into thin air.
His anxiety grew as he searched.
Suddenly, he recalled what the monkey had said, and without realizing it, he found himself walking toward Su's Cold Noodles stall.
The setting sun cast long shadows, and in the distance, a frail woman was busy at a food cart. Whether it was a trick of the mind or something else, he felt that her figure looked particularly familiar.
Before he could approach, Hou Tian suddenly sprang out, "Brother Chi Zi? What brings you here?"
Shen Chi was momentarily taken aback, and Hou Tian, with a look of realization, said with a grin, "I get it now! Hehe, you must be craving Liangpi, right?"
With that, he raised his hand as if presenting a treasure. "Look what I have! I knew you would like this, Brother Chi Zi. I prepared it for you a long time ago. Come on, let’s have a drink today."
With the conversation reaching this point, Shen Chi felt he couldn't insist on leaving. Yet, he was reluctant to just walk away. He stood still, pulled out a cigarette, and placed it between his lips while striking a match. "What’s got you so cheerful?" he asked.
Seeing this, Hou Tian quickly took out his lighter and respectfully stepped forward to light Shen Chi's cigarette. "Oh, it's nothing much. Just that Sister Xiao Xian has indeed gotten married and apparently has two kids now."
Shen Chi froze at this revelation, his gaze piercing as he looked at him. "Two kids?"
"Yeah," Hou Tian replied. "But her husband is dead." He added with a sympathetic expression, "You know, it's tough for her to raise two kids all by herself while selling Liangpi day in and day out. But if I were to marry someone who's been married before, I just can’t feel right about it. Brother Chi Zi, what do you think I should do?"
Shen Chi had no interest in giving advice; upon hearing that her husband was dead, his heart felt like it had died too.
Taking a deep drag from his cigarette, he tossed the butt to the ground and crushed it underfoot. With an air of indifference, he said simply, "I'm leaving."
Hou Tian followed closely behind him, continuing to lament his troubles as they walked away.
Su Mingxian watched the two figures disappear into the distance, a moment of contemplation washing over her. There was an uncanny sense of familiarity, especially in the way one of them flicked away a cigarette butt, which was strikingly similar to Shen Chi's mannerisms.
Unfortunately, before she could voice her thoughts, they had already walked far away, leaving her to dismiss the notion.
Life had to go on, and with more hands on deck now, she could finally consider expanding her business.
"A Jiang, you and Heizi will share one food cart. Xiu Cai will have another cart by herself. You all know this area well enough, so focus on high-traffic locations like hospitals, bus stations, and shopping malls. I'll have Xiao Wang accompany you to report back on the situation. Make sure you all take this seriously," she instructed.
Everyone nodded in agreement, except for Huangpu River, who wore a reluctant expression. "Sister Xian, I—"
"Shut up and go when I tell you to," Su Mingxian interrupted firmly, leaving no room for argument.
