Wang Daguo turned his head in disbelief, frozen in place. Was this really the Su Mingxian he knew?
Not only had she changed her hairstyle, but she was also wearing a completely new outfit, as if she had transformed into a different person. He knew Su Mingxian was beautiful, but this was on another level.
Su Mingxian held a plate of fried chicken and smiled as she glanced at the two of them. "Alright, enough with the banter. Come on, try this fried chicken and see how it tastes."
Huangpu River, with his charming peach blossom eyes, eagerly stepped forward to take the plate, his demeanor incredibly attentive.
"Sister Xian, let me help you. You sit down," he said, taking a deep sniff. "Wow, it smells amazing."
Without hesitation, he grabbed a chicken leg and took a bite. The crispy skin gave way to tender, juicy meat that was so delicious it brought tears to his eyes. "Sister Xian, I'm not just flattering you; this is the best chicken leg I've ever eaten in my life. It's incredible."
He quickly reached for another piece when Wang Daguo finally snapped back to reality. "Hey, don’t eat them all! Save one for me!"
The two of them began to tussle over the food as if they were about to fight. Just then, Qian Qian ran over with a bright voice, "Uncles, don’t fight! I have more here!"
Huangpu River's eyes lit up at the sight of Qian Qian. "You must be Qian Qian! You look just like your mother—so beautiful, like a little princess. Qian Qian, how about you let Uncle Huang be your dad from now on?"
Initially charmed by the handsome uncle, Qian Qian's expression darkened upon hearing this. She puffed up her cheeks and exclaimed, "No way! I don’t want you to be my stepfather! I hate you!"
With that, she ran off looking upset. Su Mingxian's face fell immediately. "A Jiang—"
"Sister Xian—" Huangpu River said nervously, his expression shifting to one of guilt as he looked like a sad puppy. "We’ll have to talk to the kids about us eventually, right? Don’t worry; I’ll treat them even better than my own."
Wang Daguo curled his lips, speaking as if he had a personal stake in the matter.
Su Mingxian looked visibly upset. "Shut up! What could possibly be between us? Stop talking nonsense; even jokes should have their limits."
Huangpu River, with a serious expression, replied, "I'm not joking, Sister Xian. I'm serious. I—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a chicken wing was shoved into his mouth. "Stop with the nonsense. Qian Qian has a dad; she doesn't need you to play the role."
"Let's talk business. How was today's revenue? Any other matters?" After saying this, she shot Huangpu River a stern glare.
Wang Daguo felt a sense of satisfaction and quietly lit a candle for Huangpu River before saying, "Today's revenue exceeded yesterday's by three hundred. However, I heard that other places have started selling Liangpi too, and their prices are fifty cents cheaper than ours."
Su Mingxian nodded. "It's normal for trends to follow. By the way, the Fat Aunt from the Food Processing Plant has already contacted me. Everything is ready; we’ll have an early meeting tomorrow. I have important announcements to make."
Wang Daguo immediately nodded. "Alright, I'll go check in with my cousin about the situation."
"Mm." Su Mingxian nodded and then asked, "How does the fried chicken taste?"
"It's delicious, especially tasty—better than the newly opened KFC! I've seen so many people going there that they can't even get a seat. Sister Xian, if we opened a store like that, it would definitely be a hit." Before Wang Daguo could respond, Huangpu River jumped in with his comment.
Annoyed, Wang Daguo shot him a fierce glare. "You’re just asking for trouble!"
Ignoring the two of them, Su Mingxian pondered for a moment and said, "I was thinking the same thing."
The two of them looked at her in surprise, especially Huangpu River. "Sister Xian, are you serious?"
Su Mingxian nodded. "Yes, A Jiang, you're familiar with this area. When you have some free time, keep an eye out for good shops to see if any are available for rent."
Huangpu River immediately nodded. "Got it! You can count on me for this."
