At dawn, Liu Ying was organizing the discoveries from the previous night in the observatory. Two jade pendants lay side by side on the table, glimmering faintly in the morning light.
"Miss, something strange has happened," A Fu rushed in. "This morning at the Observatory, Venus was still clearly visible at sunrise!"
Liu Ying's heart stirred as she looked up at the sky. Indeed, that bright star remained distinctly visible on the horizon as the sun began to rise.
"Send word immediately to summon all officials of Qintian Observatory," she said, striding towards the Observatory.
A considerable number of people had already gathered inside. Lord Zhang stood before the bronze instrument, his expression grave. "Liu Ying, you arrived just in time. This phenomenon…"
"It’s not just Tai Bai appearing during the day," Liu Ying pointed to a certain part of the sky. "Look, in the Purple Forbidden Enclosure, a guest star has already begun to shift."
Everyone looked up and saw the stars flickering in the sky, indeed showing signs of movement. Just then, Zhao Mingyuan hurried over. "My lord, I've just received news that the scholars from the Northern Thirteen Provinces have set out for the capital!"
"What?" Lord Zhang exclaimed in surprise. "At this time?"

At that moment, a familiar sound of a dizi floated in from afar. Liu Ying turned her gaze towards it and saw a wisp of blue smoke rising from the southern part of the city.

Liu Ying caught sight of the word "sealed" written on the memorial—it was indeed the one Lord Zhou had submitted.

The crowd passed around the memorial, their expressions varied. Although Liu Ying felt anxious inside, she maintained her composure. "What does Lord Wang mean?"
"The meaning is simple," Wang Zhengdao sneered. "The calculations from Qixi night must be answered truthfully. Otherwise…"
Before he could finish speaking, a white dove suddenly descended from above and landed on the bronze instrument in the Observatory. Everyone saw that a small bronze piece was tied to its leg.
"Oh?" Wang Zhengdao reached out to grab it, but the white dove had already taken flight.
Seizing the opportunity, Liu Ying clearly saw the shape of that bronze piece and her heart jolted: it was unmistakably the last piece of Lens!
"My lord!" A young clerk rushed in. "Someone from Anyuan Marquis Manor is here and says they wish to see Master Liu."
"I'll go," Liu Ying replied solemnly. Before she left, she noticed Zhao Mingyuan giving her a meaningful look.
Inside the observatory room, a young man dressed in fine garments awaited her arrival. Liu Ying recognized him at once as Xu Linfeng, the young master of Anyuan Marquis.
"Master Liu," Xu Linfeng said casually, "I heard you've been calculating celestial phenomena recently?"
"Indeed."
"Then may I ask what you've discovered?" Xu Linfeng seemed to playfully toy with a jade pendant that looked remarkably similar to the one Liu Ying wore.
Liu Ying's heart stirred. "Could it be that you also have some knowledge of celestial phenomena?"
"Just a little," Xu Linfeng replied with a smile. "For instance, regarding the Tai Bai daylight appearance, I have some insights. May I discuss them with you, Master Liu?"
"I would be more than happy to."
"Then please, Master Liu, Noon, join me at Taibai Pavilion for a discussion." Xu Linfeng stood up. "I will explain everything there."
Once he left, Zhao Mingyuan immediately entered. "Did he show you the jade pendant to test you?"
"Not just that," Liu Ying said solemnly. "He was informing me that the Anyuan Marquis Manor possesses what we are looking for."
"And Noon…"
"I must go," Liu Ying declared as he took out the two jade pendants. "Moreover, I want to see what secrets these two pendants hold."
At that moment, a mysterious sound of the dizi drifted in from outside, and this time it was unmistakably from the same source as the one heard earlier in the southern part of the city!
What was even more astonishing was that the two jade pendants on the table began to emit a faint glow, revealing glimpses of swirling patterns within them.
